While I was installing a trailer hitch on my '25 Badlands I noticed two, apparently factory, 1/8 inch holes in the bottom. Each is about 6 inches in from the outlet and inlet and at the gravity bottom of the muffler. There is some obvious carbon streaking as shown. All I can think of is that they are drain holes to facilitate drainage from the muffler after wading? ideas?

Interestingly, if you wedge a potato in the tail pipe, all of the exhaust comes out the two holes. And if you floor it, you can actually get the Bronco to hover about 6 inches off the ground.

Floor it for 20 minutes, or until potatoe is golden brown @ 350°.

Dang it.
I thought those were interior heater vents that were missing air lines into the rear cargo area. I repaired it last month.

Drainage holes, mostly for condensation.
Yup. The manufacturers only recently started doing that . In the old days you had to drill a low point drainage hole yourself. Actually had a mechanic fail me once for that as a "leak in the exhaust."

My new Ranger Raptor only has one hole... and the hole is much smaller in diameter.
I don't think it will hover like the Bronco, the Raptor also weighs 700 lbs. more and only has one hole.
