Anyone can submit a patent, everything doesn't have to come from @Megacorp. I've also met people that beat the system and filled patents the corporation had to pay...Sorry, but it does not work that way at a large corporationThere is a payout scale, though when people are involved in patents, but its very different that an "individual, self-employed" filed patent
But thats not what I was referring to. I was simply stating that IF something is designed while working at, say, Ford, they have a system in place is completely different from the "individual patent" method, Since Ford Lawyers are used, and you work for them, not yourself.Anyone can submit a patent, everything doesn't have to come from @Megacorp. Can you explain what you mean by this? not quite sure I understand what you are saying. People that work for the large corporation, supplier, or themselves?I've also met people that beat the system and filled patents the corporation had to pay...
And I'm saying I worked at a Ford vendor and their chief engineer, since passed, beat the system and was able to keep and profit from his patent he filed and not only profited from the company he worked for but also their competitors after a legal proceeding. I've known others that were handsomely paid up front for their patent ideas when they were approved based on projections. If you sign away your rights, that is on you, but not pushing back at all is foolish. Chose your own adventure, of course. But thats not what I was referring to. EDIT: I'm somewhat experienced in this process: added an image of one of mine

"Vendor", so a supplier. Completely different process. If you work directly for the OEM, there is zero chance of being successful with that, since you are essentially "owned" by them. And I'm saying I worked at a Ford vendor and their chief engineer, since passed, beat the system and was able to keep and profit from his patent he filed and not only profited from the company he worked for but also their competitors after a legal proceeding. I work for OEMs and have read these contracts, the burden is on the plaintiff to prove the idea was discovered during the term of employment. If the defendant can prove they birthed the idea outside of that window, they win, it doesn't matter what the contract stipulates, it matters what the patent court decides. That may be colored by other employers surveillance, but if you can document "art" outside of their corporate reach, the inventor may have the upper hand. I've seen it done and I've entered logs in patent defense files recording the date and context of the idea, so I know how this all works..."Vendor", so a supplier. Completely different process. I've NEVER worked on any patents that weren't "birthed" by the company. And.... IF one were to do that, probably career suicide.I work for OEMs and have read these contracts, the burden is on the plaintiff to prove the idea was discovered during the term of employment. Took delivery of my Bronco last week. Have pretty much everything figured out on it, but this has me stumped...
This small plastic bin was inside my center console, literally held in upside down with a piece of tape. I can't find anyplace it fits or any use for it, what am I missing?
