I love my Bronco. For the last year, it has been just great. However, I am 6'4" and its a bit tight in the legroom dept. If I could just get another 1"-ish more leg room! After a quick google., I found extendmyseat.com. They have seat extenders that allow to slide the seat another 3 inches. After digging in a little, I was totally skeptical this was actually going to work. The website is underwhelming. And there are tons of reviews about the horrid customer service. And they list the brackets as "available", but there are no install videos or instruction specific to the Bronco. Despite everything telling me this is a waste of time, I ordered a set. To my amazement, the brackets actually shipped. And I actually received them. I was shocked.

Opened the box and inside are 2 very heavy brackets and hardware. I did not take pics of the brackets themselves as this post is a total after thought. There is definitely a left and right and its impossible to screw it up.

I watched their "generic" install video to get some sort of idea. If you have any mechanical sense, figure 45-60 minutes. You'll need a 13mm and 15mm sockets and open end wrench. For the Bronco Raptor, you will also need a T10 (?) torx. The torx is to remove the plastic trim pieces covering the OEM slide mounts. These trim pieces no longer fit and the new bracket does not accommodate them. I'd imagine someone could Dremel away a few slots to re-use them. I did not, but kept them so i could return the truck to its original configuration.

Overall, you simply un-bolt the OEM slides from the floor. Once the seat is free, you simply slide the new brackets under. I bolted the new brackets to the OEM mounjt positions, then the seat to the new brackets. Taa-da. In no time, I'm back another 3inches!.

The plus: 1. Extend my seat actually shipped them. 2. They fit with very little screwing around. 3. My seat goes WAY back.
The minus: 1. The seating posiiton is still "meh". Sure its further back, but now the steering wheel is further away so more reach, your arms no longer can rest on the door sill, and you peripheral vision is now the pillar.

To me, its a small price to pay (about $300) to get a bit more leg room even with the negatives.

I'm just 6' 2" so I have to have the seat most or all the way back and then I wish the steering wheel was telescopic to I could bring it back closer to me. I feel your pain on reaching the steering wheel. I've had one in the past that you could bring the steering wheel back but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. I was hoping the Braptor had that feature but alas it doesn't. At least the one I have doesn't.

Editing this as I figured out that I was too wimpy to operate it. Once I reallly pulled on the steering wheel it came back. The more I played with it the easier it got so I suppose it just needed some tough love to get it going.

Thanks for sharing. Do those brackets cause the seat to raise up a bit from stock height?

Id like something that allows the 2-door front passenger seat to slide further forward. Although there would be some contact of the seat against the transmission tunnel, there is approx. 7 inches of room for the seat to slide. That would improve passenger access to the back seat.

Height in people is such a weird thing that I get why it’s hard for companies. I’m 6’4” as well and I run the seat a couple clicks from being all the way back. My height is in having a long torso and shorter legs so headroom is my demon.…its seat height adjustability that gets me. my line of vision is about 1” from the top of the windshield glass with the seat all the way down and the rear view mirror blocks way too much of my field of vision. It works ok in the bronco but not in a wrangler JLs I have driven.

I think you do have a telescoping steering wheel. Whether it helps you depends on the length of your arms compared to the proportional length of your legs!

Im with you on that field of vision. At 6.5, coming from an F150, the legroom was similar longitudinally, but narrower side to side . . . But the windshield view much worse, especially the rear view mirror, which cant be moved up! An electric seat helps alot.

The backets are 3/16” steel, so just a touch. Also, they only offer as driver side.

Not only am I 6'4", I am a good sandwich from thanking elastic waistbands. So, it's a bit narrow. Ironically, being based on the Ranger platform, I would NEVER look at the Ranger, yet here I am. For what it is, its incredible. Trail riding, I don't even notice the smushed size. Its really on the open road that I get squirmy. When wifey and I hit the road, its F250 all the way. That's like driving my couch.

At last, a post for tall people. When I researched the Bronco in 2020-2021, one of my concerns was legroom. In all the measurements, it was the same in length to my F150, although in width there was less room since the car was narrower as was the console, so less room to shift the body! Also, the cab length--the combined space available to front & rear seating, was less. I miss the extra space between the rear passenger seat and the back of my seat.

Having owned alot of Fords of all sizes, including E150, E350 vans, F150, Taurus' and Freestyle, I have found that ordering an electric seat is crucial to comfort. It allows a greater range of adjustability, up and down, fore-aft, and reclining. To reduce seat fatigue, I move my seat regularly during trips. Its part of why I bought an OBX instead of a Badlands, although while Bronco in 2021 required leather seats at $2,100 to go electric, most Fords I previously ordered allowed electric with cloth as a $650 option. It appears that the OP has an electric seat, seeing the screw mechanism and the wire cable. True?

I'm glad to know that the seat extender exists, and works. Thanks for posting! It gives me an option to think about. Although each tall man is built differently, as another respondent said. Depending on arm length proportional to leg length, the seat extention may over reach the reach of the telescoping steering wheel!

Speaking of headroom, the Jeep "B" crossbar keeps me from sitting in a Jeep, my head hits! This is fine, with me. And I'm grateful Bronco has no B crossbar. However, the Raptor has a crossbar over the driver, I assume Ford builds that higher?

Thanks for the post, and the responses from Tall people!

Hey great post! I am 6' 1" and have the opposite problem of most of you. I am all legs with short torso. 34" inseam. I struggle with a lot of vehicles to get comfortable. When I get the seat back far enough the steering wheel does not telescope out enough. Fortunately for the Bronco I have enough seat travel and the wheel is maxed out for telescoping. It is back close to max and I also have the seat raised up quite a bit with the height adjuster to help with my long legs.

Another tip I find works well if you have long legs and you don't want to move the seat back and be too far from the steering wheel..........add spacers to the front only of the seats. Even 1/4 or 1/2" goes long way. You may need longer bolts or to slot the holes but it usually works every time for me. I did this with my current Miata- I had to custom fabricate 3/4" spacers- a lot of work and I still barely fit. I am still too straight up and my knees hit the dash sometimes. What I would give for 1" more leg room...........but the car is so rocket fast and I use it 4 days and the Bronco 1 day to commute to work.

Speaking of power seats, anyone know if it would be a simple swap to put OBX powered seats in a non power seat Bronco? Might it be possible the wiring could be there under the flooring and it’s a matter of getting seats and maybe pigtail harness?

Solution like this for a 2021 4dr Badlands?

Due to a failed knee replacement surgery that left me unable to bend my right knee, I was all exited about this. I just swapped email with [email protected], and as they list the 2022+ Bronco and I have a 2021 (see sig line). They responded that indeed the 2021 and 2022+ are different and their 2022+ product won't work for me. (sigh)

Anybody know about/have a something that will scoot me back a couple inches in my 2021?
