I'm sure it's not super cheap to make these in Canada either, but they aren't made in the US at all.

On pricing: unfortunately this isn’t a “throw it in a container and hope for the best” product. It’s made from US-sourced materials, sewn here by actual humans with actual hands and assembled by a very small crew who expect to be paid in something stronger than high-fives. No overseas shortcuts, no mystery foam, no “close enough” stitching.

But regardless, all I meant by that is that they aren't outsourcing it overseas like the cheap Amazon one I linked to definitely is (judging by the Chinese flyer they put in the box with it).

So, long story short, yes, with the Roadie you're getting a domestically-made product with (hopefully) long-lasting and durable materials, but at what cost to the end user?

The same one is sold for both Broncos and Jeeps, It's not a Bronco specific product... so you ain't gonna see all the potential buyers here... And I would not be at all surprised to learn that a lot of Jeep owners buy them. (And there isn't a "Bronco Tax" on it either)

I would guess the sewing is probably a big cost center, that and scale (I imagine they're doing runs in the low 100s at most). That's generally where the cost savings come abroad, paying a piece worker 35 cents to put it together as opposed to say $15-25 domestic.

EPIC build quality JL/JT Jeeps. I know that firsthand, as I used to be one of their clients.

When I transitioned to a Bronco years ago, I reached out about working on it. I didn’t receive a single response, no returned calls. Yes I know, that’s their business decision, companies focus where they see opportunity. But I would have appreciated a "no, sorry, no Bronco for us".

What’s interesting now is seeing the pivot toward Broncos and the U.S. market (they are Canadians). The Bronco community didn’t appear overnight. Many shops took a chance on us early, invested time learning the platform, and supported owners from day one.

Many Bronco builders here have gone through a trial by fire phase, learning through experience and refining their work alongside the community. They saw the opportunity for a new niche, new people, and a new culture. They supported us through the thick and thins. That matters.

Personally, I prefer to support these businesses that backed the Bronco platform from the beginning. That's where my money is going.
