Hey y’all, I’ve got a Curt hitch I’ll be installing this weekend and I do have the 7 pin connector that ford hides on the bumper, but I have a question on light hook ups.
If I got 7pin to 4pin adaptor how would that affect things like rear sensors? Any other downsides?
I was also looking at this harness https://www.etrailer.com/Custom-Fit...cleID=20256009130#exp-productdetails=.reviews
And was basically wondering what y’all think the best direction to go is?

The 7-pin connector is connected to nothing on the other end. You need the trailer tow module included in Ford's kit to fully activate that wiring.

Without the trailer tow module, you'll get running lights but that's it. No brake or turn signal lights.

Note that the 2025-2026 Bronco has a different trailer tow module than 2021-2024, and the trailer tow module has to be activated with FDRS. Ford sells licenses for FDRS online, and it is the same software the dealership use, so if you want you can just have a dealer activate it.

Some people have figured out how to activate it with Forscan (@Doc TOC posted a link to a thread), but I don't know if anyone has tried on the newer 2025-2026 module yet (I'm sure they have).

I am using the Ford tow module with an aftermarket hitch. It was a pain to get the coding done (I gave up and paid Ford $160) but everything works fine.

You're going to need the tow module that is specific to the 2025 and newer models. It's only availabe in a kit that includes the hitch. Part # VS2DZ-15A416-C. I was able to get mine working with Forscan but since I already had an aftermarket hitch I now have an extra one.

You have an extra module? Looking to get rid of it?
