Lot of wisdom here. If I need something from Home Depot, I take the wife's F-150, not the Mustang. I'd hate driving that gigantic monstrosity every day, but she likes it.There is certainly a bit of hype with anything new, but there is also a very strong use case for EVs for a LOT of people. IF you have a homebase where you can charge it overnight, it makes for a fantastic vehicle for commuting and local trips. It is still a bit sketchy for public charging locations and long-distance travel, but it is improving. Many, if not most, EV households have a second car that is gas. That doesn't prove that an EV is a bad choice, any more than a motorcycle owner who also owns a car proves that a motorcycle is a bad choice. It's just a different vehicle for a different purpose.
If they made a Full Electric Maverick, direct drive, no transmission I'd be awfully tempted to buy one. That would be a great "in town/commuter" car. And unlike the Lightning, it would actually fit in a garage for charging. Town car, with a very occasional very well planed and routed long distance trip is the best application with current tech.
E-Bronco, no interest though. I wouldn't even take a gas Bronco on a serious off road trip without a gerry can of gas since the tank is so tiny.
