Thinking about adding Dual Tops to my Bronco order.

Yes, I know this will add time.

Anyone here in the forums order dual tops? What is your experience with it? Did it work out well? Worth the time and money to you?

Yeah I ordered dual tops in early 2021 when banks opened but to get my Bronco before hell froze I had to drop the painted hardtop which will never truly be available and times I would gladly pay what I received in compensation for the top I gave up.

Now 28,000 miles in truly the only drawback with softtop only is the noise which on a 4200 mile road trip is cumbersome. Winter had not been a problem other than a 40 mph crosswind can blow some snow in

Oh! I wondered how this turned out! Very cool...and gutsy to cut into your brand new Bronco! One-of-a-kind, for sure!

The OP can actually order dual and maybe expect to get it as built. In theory it should take no longer to build and deliver than if he ordered only a hardtop since soft is standard on all but 2 doors at least it was.

It does seem however that a hardtop with no moving parts would have been cheaper to build and fill the supply chain....if they had not relied on a third party. Old Henry would have purchased his own wooded forest to supy the wood needed and planted ihis own soybeans for his own plastic...oh wait he did. Nowhere today in manufacturing is that mindset. If you need it make it yourself.

Now if the OP does order dual and upon receiving decides he would rather run soft only I ill buy the hardtop whichever it is (4dr) at a 10% prium over the price differential. He eould make somewhere around $250 and I get A hardtop for maybe 20% more than I had orderd

If you want a factory hardtop, make sure you order it versus waiting to buy it later. The salesman I ordered and bought my Bronco from (at MSRP) said that currently to separately order a factory hardtop will run $9-10K. I was speaking to him yesterday about the Broncos he has in stock. My adult son (as in I’m not buying it for him) is interested in a 4 door hardtop. The only 4 doors he has in stock are soft tops. He also said he paid $8K over sticker for those Broncos.

The Toyota salesman I know said they wanted $8K over sticker for a Tacoma TRD Pro.
