Just curious what everyone does in terms of starting their Broncos from a cold start.

I feel like I'd be sitting there forever if I actually waited for the gauge to move. Also, sitting that long can't be great for an engine that isn't NA (maybe I'm wrong).
I start all my vehicles and wait until the RPM's drop and then just take it easy until the engine is warmed up. Not scientific, just what I do.
My FIL starts his and immediately throws it into gear and is on his way lol. Different strokes for different folks.

start the car, buckle up, gently pull out of the driveway, then gently motor off on the road.

That's the absolute fastest way to warm up any modern vehicle, and also the way that creates the least wear.

I wait until my seat belt is buckled, and I’ve chosen an audio program.
It’s downhill from my house, I can take it easy until it’s warmed up.

I crank it up in the garage and wait until I start to feel sleepy, then I open the garage door and off I go... apparently if I crack the windows once outside, the sleepiness goes away. My first wife clued me in on this technique.... and my friends said she didn't like me and was trying to kill me. She was helping me give my engine a long life with her advice.

As many have stated, the engine revs pretty high, so I wait for it to drop.
Mostly.
Somedays I may be in a rush, so I'll throw it in to drive and let the idle rev power me down the street until it drops but that's rare.

I wait till my RPMs drop. That said, the 2.3 ecoboost keeps high idle longer than any of my other vehicles ever did.
