The hardest part of any project is starting it.

The door panels are simple enough to remove. There's 6 #7mm screws;

1 behind the door latch

2 behind the handle cover

3 on the bottom.

There are 2 T15 screws holding the latch assembly in place, once removed it slides out. There is the lock/unlock button to disconnect as well.

The armrest is held in place by 2 T15 screws, then pops off fairly easily.

The big plastic door piece itself is held on by melted plastic rivets. I've seen people use Drexel to remove them. I used a oscillating tool to remove the top layer and they popped off.

The leather is formed onto the removed pieces by "wet forming", check it out, really awesome stuff.

I got the leather wet and worked it over the edges and molded it to the pieces shape. Took about 30min of pressing and massaging.

Then I used Aleens leather glue to bond it to the plastic stuff. I felt it set for over an hour and that let's the leather get taught as it dries also.

I reattached the trim with #8 panheads and lockrings. The armrest popped back into place.

I used @RedlineGoods leather that they let me buy a sq yard of. It matches their console cover, shifter boot, and steering wheel cover. Came out looking and feeling reaaaaallllyyyy nice.

I'll get more "Glam shots" once it's top off season

How well did this leather color match the existing color on your doors?

That should turn out nice.

Here's something for inspiration I saw the other day. Every plastic surface has been wrapped.

Whoa, that must of costed a fortune and been a p.i.t.a... just a little too much leather for my taste. I do have enough to do the center console area but am on the fence about it.

I wish they had more pics. This is from Vintage Broncos, they reskin a 6G to look like a 1G from the outside. Sorta. I think they look pretty awkward.

Whoa, I mean the front didn't end up too bad. I kinda dig the wooden trunk area. Man I'd kill for that speedometer though!
