I have some straps and carabiners hanging from the Rockworkx knobs in the Bronco.When unloaded they would rattle. That just wouldn't do.'
So I got some 5/16ths shrink tubing and did some no rattle work. 3/8ths would work fine too. Works well. Easy enough that if the tubing wears out it's only a few minutes to replace. Yes, I also put PPF film on the top of the knob.

I’m more concerned that you put PPF on top of the knob.
Probably should have said 3M vinyl film. Wasn't high end PPF. I had a 6" wide roll lying around I used for my Ram door openings and gas door. Cut some squares, put it on the knob and trimmed the excess. Carabiners were rubbing off the anodized blue on the knobs. Too fussy? Yea, probably.
