Took our first trip with the Midland MXT115 installed, and was disappointed to find that I'm getting feedback from my yellow bumper-mounted LED's. The LED's are wired to Aux 2, and the Midland is wired directly to the battery. Also get feedback from the ARB compressor, which is wired to Aux 6... Do not get feedback from the white bumper mounted LED's that are wired to Aux 3, nor from the roof light bar wired to Aux 1.

Any ideas on how to eliminate the noisy feedback? I can probably deal with the ARB by just turning off the GRMS while I'm airing up, but I'd sure like to be able to stay in communication during the fog/dust when I'm using my yellow LED's...

Try wiring your radio to the upfitter switches vs directly to the Battery. See if that resolves the issue.

The LEDs use pulse with modulation to illuminate them. Put some Ferrite Core chokes on the power wire close to the LED and your compressor, which should help. They should go on the power line to the lights as close to the light as possible.

Can/should the ferrite chokes only be over the +12v wire, or can they be clamped around a pair of power and ground wires? The LED's have about a 12" cable that runs to a quick connect and it would be easy to snap a couple around that but if I need to separate out just the +12v wire it's just a little more invasive...

Where are you grounding your radio? I posted on a different thread about how I was getting nothing but static and all I did was simply move my ground wire to a different point and it all went away.

The Bronco has a lot of aluminum and a lot of coatings... Even though the bolt I originally had grounded to had tested fine, knowing the grounding issues, I moved into a different bolt and voila.

These worked for me. Best location seemed to be right at the back of the lights. I clipped them on with the radio going to see where they helped at. 3 of them fixed my issue. No static now. Fixed my actual stereo with them too. Good fix for 20 bucks. The bigger ones did go over the aux lights harness. Those were the 3 that fixed it for me.

My power and ground for the MXT115 are both direct to battery terminals...

I'll give those clamp on units a shot, thanks a bunch for the info!
