I've said it before: Some dealerships apparently don't want sales because they are trying to tick off customers every way they can. There are always other dealerships. If yours isn't a FE, and you don't have a VIN yet, call to get it moved. If you do have a VIN, you're stuck. Call local media for consumer info/protection segments like On-Your-Side reports - many don't want the attention because it also means other local dealerships know and will snipe potential customers away from them once they know a local dealership is being shady.

How do you agree on a price when there are not any invoices yet?
There are numerous threads and spreadsheets on the forum with Invoice prices, here is my sticky thread for one of mine. Below is the official Ford Invoice Price list and one of my spreadsheets showing each trim. While I built this one to show X-Plan pricing, which Ford will not honor for 2021, never the less, you can download and edit the Excel file or search the forum for one of the other invoice spreadsheets several members have built.

Forget all this lawyer talk and whatnot... I don't see a lawyer doing much other than costing you more money. It's one vehicle. Even if it's 10 vehicles it doesn't matter. That's the problem with this country, someone stubs a toe, let's call a lawyer. 😞

I'll give you 3 options.
1. BBB - Albeit BBB is typically the slow route, but can be effective. I've received a few good results over BBB complaints.
2. Google Reviews - No one likes to be smeared locally. Not even assholes. Though the assholes will fire back. If you take the advice of some others so far, find out if anyone else from the forum is at that dealer. Strength in numbers.
3. Drive down there and kick his ass! You may not get the Bronco you want, you may end up in jail. But man that will feel good, don't ya think? 🤷‍♂️

I choose door number 3

Straight up, should your dealer suddenly feel like changing the terms, walk. It's that simple.

You will be screwed because you are going to the back of the line, but that's when you call Ford and bitch, loudly. You had a reservation and an agreement on price, which was what you placed an order on. I would ask Ford to make it right... Which they may or may not be willing to do. I certainly would never pay ADM after the order was agreed to at MSRP.

Still, you should have gotten the price in writing. As soon as my VIN number was available, I paid the bill, my balance is 0. Yes, I am waiting for my Bronco, but my price is completely locked in (although they have a low price guarantee that I am fighting for right now - I am still under MSRP).

This is a situation I expect many of us to encounter. Dealerships all over my town are nearly out of inventory. Those costs will be passed onto us, and the Bronco is a hot new commodity so they have us by the balls. I've spoken to the sales manager twice over the phone to confirm no ADM and I have an email stating there won't be an upcharge, but I'm still 100% anticipating some funny business.

My dad has been a customer of Tomball Ford for years, and when he went to order a new Raptor they quoted him MSRP like they had in the past. They called a few weeks later and told him there would be a $10k upcharge. He protested and mentioned he had been a loyal customer for years, but they wouldn't budge and didn't seem to care. Y'all are being naïve if you think this isn't going to happen to a lot of us with reservations.

I'll be walking away if this ends up being the case, strictly on principle.
More great examples for what happens when you do not negotiate before placing an order and have a signed sales contract stating what was agreed on.

Unfortunately many don't know the steps and are at the mercy of the dealer to jerk them around if you did not negotiate and get the price in writing before placing the order, signed by the dealership general manager.

I just think it's a lie.

I'm fine to be wrong and I hope you can get such a deal out of a dealership; would be awesome actually.

You've been around here long enough to know some of the deals being offered by various dealers. People have already taken delivery of below invoice pricing, from Stephen's I believe.

My deal is $2000 below invoice and I trust the dealer completely. True, I chose to drive to Iowa to pick it up, but the road trip home is free except for gas. (y)

Recently I was informed by my dealer that they were changing a policy to charge “market value” rather than MSRP. I specifically went with this dealer because they originally promised they wouldn’t up charge the bronco and would only charge MSRP. Of course they made this change and informed order holders after the deadline to change dealers. Anyone else being faced with this issue? Several legal issues come to mind with this tactic not to mention consumer protection issues.
How does a cow attorney possibly miss the Bronco class in law school? :ROFLMAO:

Well sure, we all know of the example Granger has set. I wasn’t aware they were going below invoice, but they’re in Iowa. Good for anyone who purchased through them because I hope Granger can serve as an example of how to do it the right way.

However, everyone can’t/won’t buy from Granger and most dealerships certainly are not Granger, so for most guys, MSRP is where things will be. If you can get a deal below that, I said that was great,.

My point is not to make it sound like $1000 or more below “invoice“ should be an expectation; it will by far be the exception, so adjust your thought process accordingly.

I don’t really aim any of my posts to the exception or few, but to the majority of readers and buyers based on real world experiences they’re likely to have, if things go better, great!

This is basic car ordering 101, but unfortunately many don't know the steps and are at the mercy of the dealer to jerk them around if you did not negotiate and get the price in writing before placing the order, signed by the dealership general manager.

I fall into that category of being a lifetime gear head, but have never ordered a new vehicle in my life so I did not know the process. I assumed the sheet I was given was my price, but I didn't realize it was just MSRP and not a final cost.

Ford motor company should not allow dealerships to get away with charging any more than MSRP for people that waited over a year; clearly that is the suggested price because dealerships can still make profit. I do not care if supply and demand has pushed the value of the Bronco higher, bottom line is that reservation holders put money down, built their vehicles to spec on Ford website, and waited a year. Hell, I never talked to the dealership till 8 months after my reservation to convert it and now they suddenly feel like they are doing me a favor to get the vehicle I reserved. Also, my sales rep just quit so I was super in the dark until I got a build date and started inquiring this past month.

It's unacceptable honestly. My dealer said well I'm going to call around and see what other dealerships are doing then I'll figure out a price..... Again, my bad for not understanding the process, but if Ford doesn't protect it's consumers and this dealership tries to price gouge me I will walk and never do business with Ford ever again.

You can reserve today and order at multiple places on the East Coast right now too....at well below invoice. If you want to order from my dealer, you can lock in 4% below invoice today....people should set their own expectation....if they want a deal, they can get one but it requires more work. If you want to make it easy, walk to the closest dealer and pay MSRP + fees.

While dealers should not gouge us above MSRP, I’m amazed anyone expects a discount below MSRP on a high-demand relaunch of the Bronco after 25 years.
I believe the expectation for a discount ,( at least with me) is do to many posting on several different forums , that they are getting below MSRP. And as with me, I’m a returning customer and hopefully a future returning customer. I do not believe it would be to far fetched to expect a good honest dealer ( and I do believe they exist )to give a good customer a break on pricing ( as several have posted ,there is room in there pricing to do just that )if they expect to keep you as a customer. The storm will settle eventually then what they going to do? My truck is 22 years old and I need a new one, you want to sell me one treat me fair. Just my opinion

I did not say you would win. But I think you might. Anyhow, the American court system is inundated with "Pests" you start suing people, who cannot afford to lawyer up like sales guys and sales managers, you get their attention and they decide "Lets just honor this build sheet with a price" Its my opinion, the build sheet is an agreement and one lawyer may agree, another may disagree. That my friend is the legal industry. The two lawyers make a few thousand each and the judge decides. Buyer either gets the Bronco, damages or nothing. Is all that crap worth it to dealer? Buyer?
If a dealer is sleazy enough to renege on a deal for a quick cash grab, they’re not going to care about an empty litigation threat. Consider the situation in reverse: what if it’s the customer who bails when the Bronco is ready for delivery? No court is going to compel the customer to take delivery of a car they no longer want or cannot afford and enter a judgment against the customer for the purchase price. The dealer has no damages in that situation because they’ll sell the Bronco later that day. If the customer isn’t liable in that scenario, neither is the dealership in the opposite scenario.

I find the tone here to be bizarre. Yeah, it probably is the first time for many here ordering a rare, high-demand vehicle. Not sure why you're directing your sanctimonious remarks at them instead of putting that energy into criticizing shady dealer practices.

I have my order sheet with the sales manager's signature. Doubtful that it would be legally binding, but even if it was most buyers probably wouldn't have the wherewithal to lawyer up when the dealer pulls a fast one. Would love to have the car when it comes, but I'm not doing business with people who don't keep their word, especially when it's in writing. Call me old-school.

Hope you get your vehicle hassle free.
