Today me and my son ran to the local Cabelas to pick up some pre season items. I glanced over at the local Ford dealer on the way and they had a clone on the lot.
It was a 2 door BL in cyber orange with the 2.3l and 10 spd.
To my surprise it was open and we climbed in to check head room and such. We looked it over for 5 or 10 minutes. Nobody seemed too interested in coming out to talk to us even as we went to check out the mach e. As soon as we walked away from the Bronco I noticed the lights flash and they locked the bronco.
If they didn't want me to look at it, why put it out there? I was pulled right up to the main entry door. They didn't run out and shoo me away, so I figured all was good.
Maybe I am overreacting, but it was off putting. So spirit, I am glad I have never spent a dime at your dealership and now never will.
My dealer takes care of me, and I buy from him exclusively. End of rant.

Could be the heat as well as being lazy. When I looked at a local Bronco, they guy walked out with me to unlock it, but stayed inside and locked it when I walked back into the dealer.

I don't tho k so. It was smack in front of the dealership. It had no window sticker and was parked on display with the mach e, explorer and an mustang.
On the other hand, could you imagine waiting a year for your Bronco and on delivery day as you were singing papers some red neck and his son were crawling all over it ? What a hoot!

Could’ve been a customer’s and not a mannequin, in which case I’d be very thankful for the dealer keeping it locked up

Sounds like the exact experience I want when I’m browsing the lot. Stay inside I’m good, I’ll let you know if I need something

I did confirm that it is a clone/demo. So I didn't finger up anybody's ride.

So you are upset that somebody didn’t come out to interrupt your time exploring the Bronco. Likely, he doesn’t have any pertinent info to offer anyway. You didn’t say why you would have wanted one of the reps to come out to take up your time. Your experience is exactly what I would have wanted.

IMHO, you are absolutely over reacting. I would be willing to bet that some sales associate left the Bronco unlocked inadvertently and nobody had any clue it was like that until they saw you and your son climbing inside. Once you were done checking it out they locked it to ensure that it was secure. I would say that it is not normal at most dealers to leave vehicles unsecured.

The only thing the dealer in wrong here was not at least come out and acknowledge you and say hello and ask if you had any questions.

Just my .02
