The whole, approching the customer on the lot is a really tricky proposition. Before I married, my wife used to tell me how mad her mom got when they pulled in to look at a vehicle and no one came out. You have the people that just want to look and not be bothered and those that expect someone to help immediately. A few of the larger Ford dealers south of us absolutely mob people when they drive on their lot and damn near boot their wheels.
It’s a balance of showing interest, being there to give information and understanding when to “go away” so they can shop without feeling pressured.
