Yesterday I received communication that my Bronco arrived. This was perfect as I have a big family vacation coming up on the weekend and it would be an awesome addition to the convoy.

I arrived as it was about to head to predelivery inspection and my salesman let me sit in it and take a look around. I immediately noticed that the left and right sides of the hood were about 1cm below the fenders. Got out to take a look and discovered the damage with the salesman. There are two large dents in the hood, the plastic cowl is bent out of place with tabs broken. The hinges are sunk in almost 1in from the fenders. Other plastic cowl pieces on the mirror assembly are broken and gouged. The vehicle was transported via rail to Houston then by truck to the dealer. Somewhere in between, something must have crushed it.

Waiting to hear back from the dealer on what recourse I have for repairs. But it’s a huge bummer that I am sure everyone can sympathize with.

wow that sucks - I feel for you - but I would say - take the truck, and make sure they order the new pieces and install them when it comes in.

Sorry that happened, but you seem to be taking it better than others on here. Hopefully they can order a new hood and other damaged pieces rather than repairing the old one, but either way I'm certain they can fix it right. Most dealer body shops offer a lifetime warranty on paint work, so this may work out in your favor 5-7 years from now when it needs to be redone from the sun.

That really sucks, this is not the first time I've seen this happen with new cars. They just are not as careful as they should be when transporting them around.

It will still show a clean Carfax and it will be fine when you pick it up.
that's good to know, and is key here. Sure it'll get fixed, but you don't want a car with history before you even drive it off the lot.

Hopefully, he gets a factory painted hood so the paint matches up as best as possible and hopefully, the dealer doesn't just get a primed hood replacement that they have to mix the paint color and paint.

My brother back in the day got a new Chevy S-10 pickup and they screwed up the paint on the hood from the factory. The dealership repainted it and the match was just about right but, with a keen eye, you can see that it was still off with matching the rest of the vehicle.
