Install will be tomorrow. I ran data today with the stock Intercooler and we had a little unexpected off-road session too.

Stock:

Normal cruising, once warm 105-111
Accelerating usually drops temp 3-5 degrees until off throttle then return to cruising temp after short spike up.
Stopping generally adds 1-2 degrees to cruising temp for short periods.
Max at stop around 130
Off-road slow speed, uphill 135+ with peaks of 144

Install was easy, except all the heavy stuff.
A short drive revealed drops as low as 70 and steady state around 98 but it is cooler today. Definitely never saw anything below mid 90s yesterday.

We're talking same stretch of road, same ambient temps., only difference is intercooler on/off.

No, I didn't reinstall anything from the front since I don't have ACC. I ziptied the shutter motor to the bumper bracket.

That sounds good. My test was not the same road and of course it cooled off about 10 degrees in a day too.

At ambient 70 the stock IC gradually crept up to around 102 with prolonged driving. Sitting at a light would raise it into the 110+ range and it would come back to about 104, then slowly down to 102ish again.

I haven't had a prolonged drive with the new one but in my short drives I saw around 90, which tracks with the temp difference.

The biggest difference was getting on throttle. You'd see dips into the 90s with the stock and then you pay for it when off throttle as it would spike above your average before settling back down.

With yours, temps easily dipped into the 70s and basically just returned to average with little spike beyond.

This says to me the stock cooler was sized just right for toodling around but any aggression or off-road and you'll just be seeing higher and higher peaks and therefore higher and higher averages.

Yours has cooling to spare so basically you can push and have the same effect as stock cruising.

We just approved this with one of our prototype testers, so here's some charts:

+31 degree improvement in cooling temps! And this is in moderate ambient temps. In hotter weather (summer/longer runs) the effect will compound.

With shutters open? Does it change it they are closed? Thanks.
