Haven’t posted my full build yet because it is still underway, but I wanted to share this idea I had with the folks on here. I know I could have gone a different direction with this like a switch pros or 4x4spod, but I didn’t want to have the touch pad anywhere in sight in the interior. My braptor is currently getting all the lighting wired. I chose to use mil-spec Tefzel for my truck lighting and harnesses. I am also having all the plugs swapped from weather packs to deutsch and mini deutsch connectors. Lighting is normal and nothing special; BD fog pockets, BD bumper XL linkable, BD XL80s on the pillars, 2 BD S2s on a fast intentions “chase light” mount, 16 KC cyclones as rock lights, 3 KC cyclones under the hood controlled by a push switch under the hood. I opted to go this route over the pressure switch because I didn’t want the cyclones being a nuisance. The brain of the operations is a relay panel that uses the oem outfitter switch wires as triggers for everything. I didn’t want to be limited by oem outfitter switch amperage ratings so doing this negates those ratings as the outfitter switch wires are only trigger wires at this point. The relay panel is mounted to an SDHQ bracket that bolts to factory mounting points and tucks away under the hood. The goal was to keep it as OEM looking as possible. I’ll post better pictures of the finished product once I get it back, thought I’d share in case anybody is interested. My wire guy is thinking about offering these relay boxes as a bench built item. You’d just let him know what you want and he’d build it for you with pigtails outputs.
The first picture illustrates the placement of the SDHQ bracket for reference. Everything is trucked nicely in that cavity.
