The HUD in the OP is RPM and Speed. If a driver is traveling that fast that a glance down at the IP is hazard, then perhaps they should slow down. Some of y'all are driving the wrong vehicle.

I've yet to encounter a HUD that was visible with polarized sunglasses, which I always wear. Even one on a fancy BMW. Do any exist?

It's definitely a cool gadget, and looks excellent for an OE fixture. But... I'd like to see what it is like after a year or two of baking on the dash from the sunlight before I would be willing to cut an opening in my dash like that. Not knocking it, but have been bitten enough by a few things that looked great, but didn't last very long. Thankfully those were bolt-on items easily replaced. This, is a bit more permanent.

I've found these things to be more distracting than helpful. After a few miles, I wanted the damn thing out of my line of sight.

I use a Banks iDash on the Bronco, but it's not directly in my line of sight all the time and offers quick-glance data that I need without jumping through menus. Speed on the factory dash is large enough and easy to glance at quickly without needing to blast my eyeballs with it all the time.

There's no way in hell I would permanently modify my dash to install this thing.

I have several thousand hours flying with a HUD, both in combat and in training, and several hundred scuba dives with a HUD. About 10k miles driving my wife's Lincoln with it's HUD. Can say that a HUD reduces operator workload regardless of speed. Science and experience aren't your thing. So maybe a HUD isn't for you.

honestly, factory dash is easy enough to read speedometer

For those wanting to try this out - there are apps on the phone you can use - set your phone on the dash and the app will reverse the screen so can see the reflection properly. It isn't as bright as a dedicated device, but you can see if you like the effect or not.

Also, the one thing I always thought my Bronco needed was more speedometers.
