Those are cross members, but I think they look fine. I would bash them back, paint them, and then get skids like these from @RCI Offroad

For the love of God, if you are going to put skids on the cross members then cover up they plastic tranny pan that is front and center of your picture 😀

That's not hurting anything. There are various skid options to protect them from further damage, and I think a few people have added UHMW to them.

2.3 Broncos don't even have those.
You caused me to look. You’re right. Man I better clean the underbelly. Looking dirty.

May I ask what part is damaged and whether it can be replaced? What substantive impact does it have on the entire chassis and driving? All friends are welcome to laugh and give suggestions. I'm just a rookie!

Most everyone who has been wheeling have the same scars to show. I have requested the folks at DV8 to create better K frame members.

Yes fender, now he knows that the cross bars are good to go. Mine are 10 times as bad. Skid plate don't think so, new trans pan.

At my work we install beliners in dump trucks and it is a product very similar to UMHW (plastic). Just gonna' put some of the scraps of that on my braces.

Then thinking about having the local steel place bend me piece of plate for the trans pan skid, similar to ASFIRs skid. Should be pretty easy to fab up. 😁

I have also wrestled with idea of just doing the aluminum trans pan like you said.

That isn't anything to worry about. A poorly designed part for a vehicle that is meant to offroad, but no harm done bending that stamped seam. Mine are literally beat to hell. I should crawl under my Bronco and show you what 2 years of wheeling looks like on those but I'm too lazy to walk the 20 feet over there right now... Maybe after a bit.

And those of you freaking out about the transmission pan, it's way up there. It would take very specific situation to get into it. He isn't "lucky" he didn't damage it, not based on those pics. I've wheeled HARD for 2 years and I don't worry about it. Like broke a CV shaft hard, like took my Bronco up Holy Cross hard...
