I’m having connectivity issues on my ‘22 Badlands.
I’ve tried reset, disconnecting the battery, calling the Ford tech folks, etc, etc. They told me the dealer has to fix it.
I took it to my local Ford dealer (Woody Anderson) on a Mon in June. They finally started troubleshooting Tues noon-ish (I know because they did a Master Reset which sent me a message that it was removed from the Ford Pass app). Still no diagnosis Wed. Wasn’t confident there would be one Thurs either.
Fri Update: a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) was found in the Gateway Module (GWM). The tech ran an Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) Ethernet Network Failure Pinpoint test. Step A3 reset failed and the DTC remained active. The tech then attempted to update the GWM via the USB but numerous attempts failed. He disconnected the battery to reset the GWM and attempted the update but it failed again.
So, after contacting Ford Engineers, he performed a Programmable Module Installation on the Telematics Control Unit and configured the APIM. The GWM was updated thru the Controller Area Bus Network which took about five hours.
After reprogramming was completed the DTC(s) were confirmed cleared and did not return.
…until I got home. It did the exact same thing (no connectivity).
So, I said to hell with it and removed it from the Ford Pass app. I forget about it. I’ve been off-roading, on road trips, daily driving, etc and the connectivity has been working off and on for the entire month of July. More on than off but still somewhat intermittent.
But it was kinda working so I decided last week to add it to the Ford Pass app again. Of course it didn’t add it and I just left it thinking when it connected again eventually it would add it. It never connected again over the past week and a half.
So, I said to hell with it again and removed it from the app this AM. This afternoon I had to run to the store and walla: connectivity.
I think it’s the Ford Pass app keeping it from connectivity. Does anyone else experience this?
