Hello,
First drive with our new bronco and the collision detection quits working which also means cruise control stopped working. Looked up the message and it says there's a fault that needs to be looked at. Is that more likely than the sensor being blocked? We did get a few bugs on the drive. What part of the grill has the sensor? Or is it somewhere else? 2025 model if that's needed.
Thanks.

There are two sensors:

One is the adaptive cruise control sensor located in the middle of the bumper below the grille. The other is the image processing camera located in the center of the windshield on the other side of the rear-view mirror.

(It's probably the camera that's blocked.)

The above has the locations right, but it can be either one that is causing issues. If you don't get a 'camera blocked' message then it likely isn't the camera, though it could be.

When my wife's Expedition popped up those messages, it was because my FIL borrowed it and decided to go through a touch car wash, and the big flappers knocked the adaptive cruise sensor loose. Caused it to lose the adaptive cruise, regular cruise, and collision assist. Dealer fixed it in less than 30 minutes under warranty.

Welp, I think I just found out what's wrong with mine... The whole plastic structure the ACC distance sensor is mounted on is broken and bent back (making sensor point down more than it should). I must have hit something off-roading at some point. I guess I'm pulling my bumper off and doing some work with some epoxy...
