Whenever I release my clutch and balance the gas while in gear I hear a creaking noise. Doesn’t happen when in neutral. Transmission performance seems fine (for now). Any others experiencing the same. Any ideas. I have a service appointment in a few days and want to ensure they fix it.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Hey there. Could you please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer? I'd like to take a closer look at your Bronco's creaking concerns.

Mine does the same - squeaks as it's being depressed and released. I took to my dealer and he asked me if I really want to leave it for a clutch pedal that squeaks. Clutch feels fine though - Had local Bronco guys check it out too.

Also, mine squeaks in neutral too, which gives me a reason to believe it's just a spring that needs to be re greased or something simple like that.

Hi there. This clutch concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Bronco. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

I have same/similar issue with clutch pedal squeaking. I am at 8500 miles and the clutch operation is otherwise perfectly normal, but the squeaking is driving me nuts. I am yet to take it to the dealer. Please let me know if anyone gets it fixed.

Ford replaced (full replacement)the clutch. Unfortunately, the new on is starting to do the same after 3k. Take it in. They will take care of you. I made another appointment.

Thanks for your reply Gil! Do you mean the clutch pedal or the actual clutch? Thanks

All of the above. Initially thought it was the pedal and we’re instructed by Ford to replace entire clutch assembly.

Hello everyone,

May I kindly ask for additional info on this issue? I just took my vehicle on a 10-hour round trip and did notice the same thing (within 3 hrs of driving). It happens during 1st and 2nd gear and quite randomly.

The Bronco has less than 1,000 miles now.

Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi there! I can assist with your clutch creak concern. Could you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info?

For those having this issue, do you know if yours was a delayed vehicle (dirt or ice mountain)?
The Bronco has a hydraulic clutch.
That limits possible creaking noises to:
  • Pedal pivot point
  • slave cylinder
  • pilot bearing
  • pressure plate fingers
Corrosion on the pressure plate assembly could result in creaking noises and would be indicative of a vehicle left in the elements for a long period of time without driving. This would be the first thing I would look at.

Corrosion on the slave cylinder could cause it to make a noise when it is actuated and would be the second thing I would look at.

3rd I would look at the pilot bearing, only if the noise was constant. Noise only when applying force to the clutch pedal, or releasing force from the clutch pedal will be one of the other things.
