Battery was low on my 22 base so I changed it after reading the forums here. Was receiving several indicators and Ford service told me its the battery. Installed new battery and still receiving multiple messages about parking brake on or not disengaged? Is this a reset the BMS and is that just unplugging, plug back in? Looking for an alternative ot twoing to the dealer.

Tanks but did that as per many youtube videos. Battery light did not flash after the brake pumps and now the car won't even start-with the new battery in. Seems like i have to unplug the battery sensor or maybe discoonect/reconnect battery and try the brights/brake pumps again.

If you cant get the headlamp/brake/button/whatever dance to
work - Forscan also has it in the service mode section and it’s a lot easier to activate there.

The fact that it did’t reset ~may~ be an issue but shouldn’t be hanging the parking brakes up.

Here’s what I would try before you have it towed: (I know you’ve done a lot of this already but the order can matter)

See if you can reset the BMS again (any way you choose) - if it works great, if not ok — proceed as below either way
Pull the negative lead for about 20 minutes or so
Connect the negative lead again
Dont start it or anything yet
Put the battery on a trickle charger / tender (I know its brand new - this is more for the BMS). make sure the negative clamp is on chassis or the wing out on the harness — not directly on the battery (-) post
Let it sit over night
If the BMS didnt reset the day before, try it again here
Use an OBD scanner or Forscan and check for any codes here (ProCal is a junk scanner and wont show you everything) — they should have reset when you pulled the cable but if you have some at this point it’s teliing. Reset any thing that may have popped up
Now start it up and see what it does

Guess I'll give that a try. I don't have a scanner but I'll hook up the trickle. Thanks.

These days, I think an OBD scanner is pretty much a required tool that every car/truck owner should have. They are not expensive and even if you don't plan on doing your own repairs - they are invaluable as a diagnostic aid.

All the electronics in modern vehicles means so many weird things can go wrong- so why not take advantage of the reporting tool manufacturers give us to help identify the problem.

At a minimum, your basic code reader is fine. But if you think you'll ever want to use Forscan (and you WILL eventually want to use Forscan) invest in a Forscan compatible unit. (the Forscan web site lists recommended models)

agree with forscan or similar being a required tool. I'm ready with tools on the trail and I have my impact fitted with 19mm ready to rip lug nuts, but the laptop is probably the most important to have sitting in the bronco.

Or a bluetooth reader connected to an app on your phone. Even if you leave the laptop home you can always pull the codes and google them (assuming service available)

Well now the battery is completely dead and my mobile charger doesn't have enough juice. Will be towing to the dealer as no idea what is going on.

UPDATE: Passenger side internal door lock device was draining the battery, probably because it shorted. Dealer is ordering new device. Not sure why that triggered all the warnings or possible parking brake issue but low voltage seems to do that. Oh yeah, had an oil leak in the front end and need to replace a seal, which requires all kinds of parts removals, i.e. lots of work. Thankfully covered under warranty! Just pushed my road trip off by another 2 weeks I guess.
