Can someone explain our HVAC system?

Thought I would ping this thread and ask if anyone has figured a workaround for the HVAC system automatically turning off cabin re-circulation under certain conditions? I have a Big Bend with the base (non auto/dual zone) HVAC unit

I drove my Bronco off the lot one week ago today and so far this is the most annoying niggle for me, up there with auto-stop (Eliminator arriving today) and the double honk, which scares the bejesus out of you - Ford, that double honk is just f#$%ing mean!

iirc we determined that Ford considers this a feature and not a bug.

Still no way to disable it that I’m aware of.

Worked on an old Subaru’s HVAC once and it had some weird quirks too. Took a bit to figure out, but seeing how sensors react to outside temp made it click. Kind of like training where candidates must possess a high school diploma before admission — the basics set the foundation, but understanding how things adjust in real conditions is where it gets interesting.
