Can 2 dr hardtop be stored upside down? (roof)

Im about to swap to soft top for the remaining summer. Will the hardtop lose shape if laying on the roof for several months.?

I have a large shelf in a shed large enough to sit the roof on a blanket. Every conversation or pic I see of the top it is sitting right-side up either hanging, of holes drilled into wood for the pins to rest in.

That’s what I did, not sure if the hardtop will go back on ever, but I did store it upside down on a shelf with a strap around it. Strap is mainly there to ensure the rear glass stays closed, it is only as tight as it needed to be.

IC, so it's the rear window I will have to worry about. I will rig up something with straps or long shock cables to hold it up
