Camaro/Audi for Bronco

I love corvettes. I got to drive my friend‘s C8 last weekend for about an hour through twisty roads in nor cal and enjoyed the heck out of it. I would get one, but my wife does not like to climb out of vehicle that low to the ground. Awesome car though. A bit pricey for me too.

I had one and loved everything BUT the DCT. I’m a stick guy for a toy.

Other than that it was amazing.

Trade on Camaro is fantastic. Was offered more than I paid for it. It’s a 4000 mile 2023. Audi is a sport back and trade is break even.
I’m not looking to replace anything the 4Runner does because we are keeping it.

I read your post incorrectly, and saw 2013 Camaro, not 2023. So yeah, trade in would be good assuming you're on the upside so quickly for a flip.

What I was saying is, you mentioned that you use your wife's 4Runner for carrying stuff, and I'm just saying that the bronco doesn't have that level of interior capacity. I would have kept my 4Runner all those years ago if it wasn't for the terrible gearing and 1980s 5 speed transmission, it drove me nuts on the highway.

The Bronco will not replace either of those cars for a "fun" factor, unless you were to go with a Bronco Raptor. That said, there are plenty of ford dealers in our area that have them at or below MSRP.

I’m not looking for just fun factor though I’m looking for fun at will and more usability than both in one package. I totally intend on buying another toy car later. I just wanna buy something older that I can work on.

Agree on the Z06. I had two corvettes in my life so far. A c5 and a c8.
A c7 Z (M7) be the ticket and id not let it go but they are astronomically priced right now.

I'd be remiss to not reply to this comment... In 2019 they were giving $10k discounts on C7's to get them off lots to make way for the C8. I saw the C8 debut, went and sat in them, but just couldn't be without a third pedal so I brought in. To me, sports cars are an experience and manuals bring you so much closer to it. I know many who say the C8 provides nearly that with the flappy paddles, but I just couldn't see it...

I never looked at my automotive hobby as an investment or anything near it. But I will say, I'm not sad about the C7 values... But as my wife says, there is only value if you sell...

I ordered a C8 new and I should’ve bought a C7 z06.
Someday I’ll get one. Or at least a M7 GS

I usually always have a sports car but I'm using mine less and less as the kids get bigger/busier. Just hope that a bronco can offer daily driving fun.

It's really tricky to advise, because we're guessing about how to rank the priorities. The 4runner could last until the older kid goes off to school, and after that the 2-door would handle your needs.


I mention because the 2-door feels sporty. It's just as comfortable as a larger SUV for daily needs and speeding across steep curb cuts in and out of parking lots. But it's still small enough to be fun to drive. It doesn't have the heavier truck-like feel that you can get from a larger SUV.


I learned about all this because 15 years ago I was new to SUVs, and bought different sizes. That's how I discovered the smallest one feels sportier than the larger ones. And now the 2-door Bronco is even smaller, lighter, with a top-tier powertrain.

Just saw this thread. Congrats on the new ride. I was in a similar dilemma not quite a year ago. Had a 23 Challenger 1320 with 6.4 392. Dream car in so many ways.

I’ve always been torn between sports cars and 4x4’s. Owned other Challengers, Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes and Jeeps (Wranglers) in the past.

While the 2.7 in my Badlands isn’t a substitution for the 392 it has decent acceleration and overall the Bronco just feels like an extension of me. While I have owned a lot of different vehicles, they don’t always feel this way.

lol dude don't sell your sports car. I was in a similar situation last year when I picked up my bronco. And I sold my Audi S5 and Mercedes E350 to make space for the Bronco. Guess what, I just bought a 2024 M8 Competition Coupe because I miss fast cars

Prior to my Bronco Raptor I had a Porsche 911 Turbo S. Absolutely loved that car. Prior to it I was in a MB C63 AMG 507 Edition. Also very fun but not like the 911.

I live 1 mile or so off the hard road and not liking to dirty them up, usage was limited. Never in the winter or rain due to the dirt road turning to mud.

I use the Bronco anytime without worrying about the dirt/mud. It's enjoyable to drive in a different way. Trails or forest roads, no worries. More room to haul things home and pulling one of my trailers is not a concern. Way more practical.

That being said, I do miss the sports car experience and have been looking for something to add to use on weekend trips with the wife.

Looks like you went for it! I originally wanted a Camaro or Mustang convertible as our second "fun car" to go with our Audi A4 Allroad. Now that we live in rural VA the Bronco made so much more sense, and I don't regret the decision in the slightest. I mostly drive the Bronco now, and it's so much fun on a nice day to fold the top back and take the long way around via country gravel roads.

We normally take the Audi on long distance trips, though - it's certainly more comfortable, has adaptive cruise (I had to give up the Lux package to finally get a car), and with a rooftop carrier (not an option with our softop Bronco) fits a lot more inside. The height and geometry of the rear doors on the Bronco means the dog basically can't get in, so he rides in the back of the Bronco - which means even less cargo space. But for driving around VA and WVA I pick the Bronco every time.
