Camaro/Audi for Bronco

Love our 2dr 7mt Bronco. Love rowin' the gears like I did back-in-the-day with my '66 Mustang 289. Love having a pseudo convertible. Love makin' u-turns on a dime. Love the low overhead when going on cross-country trips with our new teardrop trailer (vs. hauling 4000 lb. truck campers, 14000 lb. 5th wheels, etc. with our previous 1-ton diesel). Do not love the fact our Bronco gets worse highway MPG's than the Ram Cummins it replaced---lol!

I’m like you, as I get older, I don’t enjoy the sports car as much. We already have a 4dr Basesquatch, wife uses for daily, and use it for weekend and vacation fun. But we really think that trading the sports car (2dr) for a 2dr Bronco would be a good trade. We’d use the new 2dr Bronco for weekend fun and vacation, leave 4dr for daily.

Just FBO and E85 tune the 2.7L and you won’t be giving up too much just ask the S550 GT I rolled up on the other day.

As an owner of sports cars in addition to the Bronco, I can assure there is still the "fun" aspect in the Bronco, especially with the roof/door removal aspects. Is it a replacement for sports cars? No

Being from Pittsburgh myself, I can relate. Having 2 coupes has to be a pain in the butt.

That said, trading both for a bronco probably isn't going to be worth it. The resale on the camaro is going to be garbage, but the Audi may be able to salvage your trade in depending on how much you owe on either.

The bronco doesn't have a lot of storage space, so if you're trying to replace the use of your wife's 4Runner, you're more in Explorer ST territory. The bronco is fun, but after my recent 2,000 mile trip with ours, determined that it is not a family trip car lol.

Trade on Camaro is fantastic. Was offered more than I paid for it. It’s a 4000 mile 2023. Audi is a sport back and trade is break even.
I’m not looking to replace anything the 4Runner does because we are keeping it.

Mine, a 2014 OBX Lux 2.7 non-sas with all of the other options (including dual top) replaced my beloved 2015 GTI (with APR stg 1 tune) and my equally beloved 2014 Mercedes E350 4-matic sedan. I had both to scratch both itches. Each with around 70k miles when I sold them. Feel like driving, I'd take the GTI. Feel like being driven or a really long road trip, I'd take the Mercedes. I too have two kids (16/13), wife, 100lb lab named Jack. The 4 door fits us perfectly. Wife has a 2020 Mercedes GLS spec'd out. I used to think that was an SUV. Now after having the Bronco for about 6 weeks and 1k miles, it's like a limo / minivan.

I have 0% regrets with the Bronco replacing both the GTI and E350. Yes, I do miss that GTI DSG sometimes, but I also really enjoy driving around in safari mode on my soft top (back windows out, door windows down). The Bronco is fun in the sense that you can basically drive over anything you want. The 2.7t V6 has over 400lb's of torque and will legitimately get up and run.

Do I see another little sports car in my future to compliment the Bronco and wife's Mercedes? Yeah, probably. But a cheap toy to play with, nothing new or terribly expensive. But we're in no hurry for it at all.

I would recommend the OBX fully loaded for you, but if you want the V6, you'll have to move up for it I believe, as Ford is only doing the 2.3 in the OBX now is my understanding.

PS: The 2.7t V6 is dual injection (port and direct), whereas the 2.3t is direct injection only. Being an Audi guy, you likely know what you could face with the 2.3t in the future to clean the intake valves. Just a by-product of DI engines. If you go the 2.7t, the port injection will prevent that from happening entirely.

I’ve done the same in the past with a wrangler. I had a f150 and a mustang.

I had no regrets but life changed and I was able to get another sports car. For a time i had a C8 corvette but it was absolutely useless with the kids. I’ve had a bunch of Camaros. I think I’ll get another toy someday but something cheaper/older that I can tinker with.

I have the numbers and they make sense. I just have to decide if want to pull the trigger and I’m pretty close to doing it.

Hi!

I have a 2023 Camaro SS convertible and and Audi S5. I love the Bronco Wildtrak andnow that they are finally being discounted I think I may trade both on it. I have two kids 11/3 and I mountain bike and play hockey. The camaro is fun but I don't drive it much (pittsburgh) and the Audi is really nice and quick but isn't very useful. I drive the wife's 4Runner when it's time to haul things. I have had 2 wranglers in the past and i feel like the 4door 4WD convertible life is such a good balance.

I usually always have a sports car but I'm using mine less and less as the kids get bigger/busier. Just hope that a bronco can offer daily driving fun.

anyone come from a similar background? PS looking at eruption green wildtrak.

That being said, the Camaro is one car I regret selling, albeit it's not a super practical car. If your life allows for it, it would be great to keep one (Camaro gets my vote) and then get the Bronco, if you can find one at an awesome price.

If not, the Bronco was one of my favourite vehicles as well, and I enjoyed owning it for a couple of years. No matter your decision, you can't really go wrong. Best of luck with your decision!

I will probably get an older Camaro. 6th gen’s aren’t my speed. I’ll end up with another one some day. Dad is a manager at a Chevy store. I can always find one.

I did let my 2015 1LE get away and I miss it. Terribly.

What do you have now?

I did have a 2021 Bronco Badlands (4 door) with Sasquatch package, but recently sold it a week or so ago for a 2024 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. I needed the ability to haul and tow, but still wanted a good off road capable vehicle.
