I just got my build scheduling email today. Order is scheduled to be built week of March 13th. I checked my order after the vin was issued. I found out my MIC top, High package and Sasquatch package was removed without any input from me. I have a 4 dr Badlands order. I figured it might have to do with the recent option constraints for the MIC, Sasquatch and Lux packages. But now I’m also seeing people are getting build scheduling notifications today with all of these options still on their orders. How did my options get removed without me knowing or talking to my dealer? Is it too late to try to get the MIC top, Sasquatch and High package added back?

Your dealer probably removed the options without telling you, hoping that because of it you'll refuse delivery and they will get a Bronco that they can mark up.

I would raise hell if I were you.

That’s what I’m worried about, but I don’t know how to prove it. They played dumb when I emailed and called today. They acted like Ford did it and said I was lucky I got a build date. Is there any way I can find out the real story?

The dealership probably lied to you. I think you need to get in contact with Ford customer service. I believe the dealership must have faked your authorization in order to make these changes.

If you didn't give them any direction, that is considered "walking away" from your order and your order is supposed to be cancelled.

The email I got from Ford on Jan 20th said I have until Mar 7th to decide if I wanted to remove any options, keep it the same and possibly risk not getting a 2023 or cancel the order. Based on that, nothing should have changed with my order if I hadn’t said anything to my dealer yet. I’m going to call the Bronco customer service line tomorrow to see if I can get any more info.

You'll get exactly nowhere with customer service. The dealer obviously did it, so maybe if you are assertive (aggresive!) with them you might get them to give you some sort of concession. Unlikely. You should have a DORA with the order you wanted, so show that to them. You should also have received an email from Ford when your order was changed.

You should receive the $2500 discount, so maybe it's not all bad. You can buy SAS wheels on this forum and add a little lift and you've got SAS. Sucks to not have the hardtop though. Makes no sense that High package was dropped since LUX was the constraint?

Get a copy of your DORA from your dealer. Ford is only building what the dealer ordered.

The last email I received showing my order had changed was last year when I changed my color. So I was confused when my build schedule e-mail showed all of these changes. I agree, the High package being removed really doesn’t make sense either.

Called customer service this morning. They said ford doesn’t make the order changes like this. They said the dealer is only one to make changes to the order. They also said that changes can’t be made to order after the vin is created. Anyone have any experience whether changes can actually be made after the vin is issued? Looking for some hope here. Next stop is the dealership to see if they’re going to make this right.

with the VIN issued, that vehicle is being built. They're not gonna pull it out of line and start over. They're building that VIN. The dealer has 100% done something, and you're in a "take it or leave it" situation.

Changes that don't impact the VIN can be made after it has been issued but your dealer and their rep have to be willing to do so. We have seen members change paint color and one was even able to add Squatch to a BL by having their dealer select it in WBDO. Presumably because the BL already has the advanced transfer case and before the Squatch wheels were constrained.

Afternoon Update: Sat in the general manager’s office for almost two hours trying to figure out what happened. He showed me in the system the order history and change history. The last change that was made that removed my options was made by a Ford factory scheduler. He got the regional manager on speaker phone and talked through my issues. He then found out that all of his outstanding factory orders (dozens) had been modified by Ford on the same day, hour and minute. He was able to get my High package added back to my order without it kicking out of the system with an error, but the MIC top and Sasquatch package were greyed out on his order screen, so those weren’t available. He said he’s going to try again on Monday to work on getting the MIC and Sasquatch added back. I’m ok without the Sasquatch package since the Badlands already has most of the Sasquatch package, but the MIC top would be preferred over the soft top. Long story short, I don’t feeling like I’m dealing with dealer shadiness and the GM seems equally frustrated and genuinely willing to do what he can to get me the Bronco how I ordered it.
