Order Changes That Speed or Slow Build - aka HACKS

Logic dictates that if you config. a Bronco with no constraints or 1-2 lesser constrained parts you have a much better chance of getting a sooner build date. I have heard from a person who has a decent chance of knowing what he/she is talking about that that once you place a "low/no" constrained order DO NOT change it until you get a build date. Then if you really want to add, say, one constrained item DO IT and roll the dice. Sometimes or often this works and FORD will just pull the part you need from somewhere else and build your Bronco just so they don't have to reschedule. Can anyone confirm this theory or shoot holes in it?

don't think so. real high level here are the steps. the battle is #2, i don't see how leaving constrained parts on and getting past this helps. dropping post preview would be crazy, they are now allocating parts for your build.

1. you get previewed (dealer allocation and reservation date)
2. you get selected (build parts available)
3. goes into production (build)
4. shipping

I don't think changing anything matters this late in the game.

1. If 4 door, order a soft top.
2. Don't order tow package.

Ford has streamlined it to get them out as much as they could, even going so far as to stop the ordering process(which probably should have been sooner) and canceling ppf.

Place order.
Go live your life.
Pick up bronco in 2024.

My original obx build was without SAS. Got a build week and vin in November for 1/24. Ended up adding SAS early December and my build date ending up getting pushed back a week to 1/31 in early Jan.

So it’s possible to add things and not get pushed back.
