My build had a preview today so I'm hoping it goes through next week. I reserved within the first half hour and was #2 at my dealer. Keep the faith!
I am also #2, night of reveal...waiting to find out if i was previewed...what is your build spec?

That was from last July. I've got one scheduled to be built 6/16/21 and 3 more at the beginning of July. The unknown is how fast they will get from the plant to the dealers afterwards but considering the disruptions, we are not too far off from the original timeline. Are they in the volumes anyone wanted? No, but it's still progress in the right direction.

Shitting on Ford isn't going to help at this point. God knows I've bitched about the communication from Ford there's stuff I know for certain. Ford wants to build and deliver these so they can get paid and I can't crap MIC tops or semi-conductors so it is what it is. This thread will be so far in the archives by this time next year we'll have forgotten it even existed.;)

"That was from last July." Correct, when timestamps mattered.

"but it's still progress in the right direction." -Maybe, I'm betting that bigger production issues follow - Tops!

"Shitting on Ford isn't going to help at this point." Well, I think they shit on me. 1st day reservation, then say we're making two weeks worth of units ahead of yours for (P1 VIP) people that ordered months later? How about you give me one of your units? Also I'm top res at my dealer, but they could max out on allocation before I'm scheduled. They added conditions that the holder (me) was unaware of.

"Ford wants to build and deliver these" Eh, they don't care about me. They will sell what they build. (VIP P1 ) Time stamp only matters when nothing else does.

Yes, I'm bitter, and yes, I think they're doing a shitty job. If they stuck to #1)FE's #2) Timestamps and #3) VIP's I'd be much less bitter.

So if you knew about the priority deal after the fact like we did, would you have still ordered one? Your ability to get at '21 is directly related to the vehicle YOU chose to spec, YOUR times stamp and Ford's ability to get the parts to build it. So I guess you could say most of this is your fault. I'm just messing with you, don't blow a blood vessel.

How long you gonna be bitter? Isn't going to get your rig to you any faster and just kills any joy in your life. Guess you are entitled to your feelings but why waste the energy or time grinding on stuff out of your control?

I don't expect Ford to send out 60k emails to everyone by the end of May for an estimated delivery. I simply think they can hang their hat on the fact that they've started communicating that information to customers, beginning in May, which is what they're doing each week by sending out the emails to those who are getting scheduled.

I think that is the course they're on....

Ignorance is bliss, but if you really want to know.... as a reward for placing your order Ford gave you one last kick in the ass and let dealers select ~3000 orders, regardless of reservation timestamp, to move to the front of the line ahead of you. These people are first in line to get the limited commodities and may delay your order or push you out of 2021 allocation.
I am sure that was in the fine print, right? Ford will build your order in approximate timestamp order (then added...adjusted for allocations, behind 3100 orders dealers decided to put in front of you, and also behind an undetermined number of people Ford deems to be better than you (VIPs))...and finally, if there are any parts left over, they will build . Wait until MY2022 comes out and they start doing a mix of dealer stock and converted reservations that eat the same allocations, plus new VIP's and Priority orders are sure to come.

Can we talk about the MIC top situation for a second? Let's assume Fords #1 priority is hitting their promised 60k run for the 2021 Bronco roll out. Let’s assume they wave in every soft top they have access to (in the most extreme scenario) whats the outcome for MIC guys....

They seemed to have an existing stock pile of MIC tops at the start of production. We saw MIC tops freely handed out for June priority builds (then they ran into lack of MICs for July when it came time to rely on newly produced tops).

MIC stockpile applied to 5k demos and 3k priorities, assuming a 70% are MIC = 5.6k MIC tops assigned across those 8k. Plus they need to make good on 7k FEs with MIC tops = 12.6k total MIC tops. So of the 60k builds, including FE/Priority/Demo, thats 15k builds, of which 12.6k are MIC. They have 45k builds left for the 2021 run, and 110k orders remaining to choose from. Lets say Ford waves in EVERY soft top all the way through recent reservations - we have 110k orders left - if 30% are soft top, thats 33k soft tops they could cherry pick. Then Ford asks/urges to switch to a soft top. Let's say they convinced a couple thousand people to switch, thats now 35k soft tops for the taking. Now they are at 50k builds for the 2021 run. With no more soft tops to choose from, they need 10k MIC tops from webasto to hit their 60k volume for 2021. Ford would probably do everything in their power to assist webasto in producing those extra MICs to hit their volume number, as thats #1 for shareholders. Ok - 10k MIC tops for non-FE/non-priority guys. So top 17% percentile of dealer allocation get a MIC top (10k/60k = 17%). Now couple that with other restraints such as sasquatch etc. and you would think each dealer would get maybe a couple Day 1 reservation loaded sasquatches filled for 2021. There's a chance...
I like your attempt to try and use some logic to try and find a positive in this. Keep it up! I enjoy these even if they make some people's head hurt.

I've worked in the Automotive industry my whole life on the manufacturing, product planning and marketing sides. I don't know Ford's specific arrangement with Webasto, but I can guarantee that Webasto will do everything they can to make up for tops once they have things up and running full speed and potentially with multiple shifts if necessary. Supplier contracts do have some verbiage to release them under conditions out of their control, but those are usually tied to penalties and in the end not getting paid if they can't produce.

Assuming there are no engineering/manufacturing/quality defects (first owners will tell us pretty quickly) and that this is tied to the plastics shortage, then we just cross our fingers that the plastic shortage starts to catch back up over the next several months. Lumber prices have started to recover this week and so has steel (at least index pricing), so there is good reason to hope. Fingers crossed.

<edit>So after doing some research it seems that the hardtop woes for the Bronco go back to last December (before plastics supply issues really took hold). Jeep had to issue TSB's for the Freedom Panels (also made by Webasto) on their current generation Jeep as it had leaking issues. Hopefully Webasto sorted that out for Bronco, but given the fact there is no support cross bar in the Bronco, I'm guessing this hard top is even trickier to engineer properly and minimize noise and weather intrusion. Either way, we don't know for sure and all we can do is wait.

This is kind of how I look at it. Getting all bent out of shape because it's taking longer than people thought doesn't really speed things up. And at the end of the day our commitment is a $100 fully refundable deposit. One thing that can't be doubted is that Ford really wants to get these built even more than we want to drive them.

Not a VIP or 1st edition obviously.

Other than my build being a BL Lux instead of Mid pkg, our builds are identical right down to the color, Sas, engine, and doors. I’m #1 of 56, first 10 mins of reveal night. We shall see if Thursday is our lucky day.

I'm not sure what email you are referring to...but Ford gave this PP to dealers to communicate it to their reservation holders: "Delivery Estimate" in May is explicit. It doesn't get much more clear.

1621366204211.png

and then this on the Ford website, again explicit that you will get a delivery estimate:

"In May 2021 we will communicate to customers that place an order their estimated delivery timing based on reservation timestamp, vehicle model and configuration selected, part constraints, and the number of Broncos the dealer receives. Deliveries will begin in June 2021."

yeah, I showed him the current Ford FAQ online in addition;

When will I take delivery of my vehicle?
Bronco deliveries begin June 2021 and are expected to extend through 2022 calendar year. In May 2021, customers who have placed an order will receive an estimated delivery window. Actual delivery times will vary based on reservation timestamp, vehicle model and configuration selected, part constraints, and the number of Bronco vehicles your dealer will receive. See your dealer for more details.

"Estimated delivery window..." seems pretty specific to me. He just seems very resistant to admitting he is the one with the reading comprehension difficulties.

When I asked my sales rep about previews and Thursday build emails a while back, he said that I would know before he knows. I thought to myself.......of course this is true, and his acknowledgement of such came as no great revelation to me, since I have known everything about the Bronco and the ordering process (thanks to the people on this forum) well before him.

It is a crying shame that the lazy, lying bastard will receive commission on this sale. He knows relatively nothing about the vehicle, or previews, or commodity constraints, or Ford memos, and apparently the only one at the dealership that does is his GSM. As luck would have it, the GSM is always off the day I have a question, and I never get a response the next day, or the day after without me initiating the conversation, which always starts with “Sorry dude....it’s been a hectic day”. To top it off, he calls me Merry, knowing I’m a “Dude” and my last text to him after my request to have the towing package removed (that was ignored) was for him to just let me know when my Bronco arrives.....of course his response was “sorry, it’s been a hectic day dude”
NO ONE in dealerships is having "hectic days" They have little to no inventory to sell. My Dealer normally has 40+ new pickups on the lot. They have 2. 19 new vehicles total in inventory...
