I have an idea that I think would make for a great reference for everyone.

A thread for ‘Long’ term tire reviews on our Broncos. Long term is very relative, but the reason I say this is because, most people report back to us when they get new tires and they are all excited about them, but rarely do people follow up and report back on if they still love their tires and if they would buy them again. How they handled in rain, snow, dry, mud, rocks, and dirt trails, are they holding up, are they loud, do you feel they were worth the money ...

List your tire specs, when you bought them, miles you put on them, and your personal reviews of how you liked them in different driving conditions, and if you had to do it again, would you?

And of course pictures - because everyone loves to see how they look 😁

Anyone want to start, I'm still running the factory Sasquatch Good Years and am always thinking about swapping out the tires and probably rims 😉 but I really want to get a good feel for these first and than make a good choice when I jump.

Anyway, I don't want to be the person to review them long term yet, because I haven't had them through a winter yet.

Anyway, if someone with 4 seasons behind them with the OEM tires wants to start us off, that would be great.

OR Maybe this thread will wither and die before it gets going if there is no interest, which could be the case. But I really love the AI generated picture of a Bronco on a mountain of tires - so lets not waste it 😁

I had the factory Goodyears for 24k miles and they wore to 4/32 before I replaced them. Not good longevity, but I was on a four tire rotation after repairing a flat and making that tire my spare. And obviously everyone is familiar with the "rock chucking" qualities and thin sidewalls.

However, overall it was not a bad tire. They're pretty quiet, dry grip was decent, they resisted hydroplaning extremely well, and snow performance was actually pretty good. Would I buy them on purpose? No. But they're not as bad as people like to make them out to be.

I replaced them with Toyo Open Country R/T Trails in 37/12.5R17. So far they're louder than the Goodyears and not as good in snow, and obviously they're heavy, but better in every other metric. I don't have a long term review of them yet since I've only had them for about 3k miles, but so far they're wearing well and no balance issues.

The new GoodYear Wrangler Duratrak RTs have addressed the old 2-ply thin sidewalls for sure, and the rock-chucking and longevity are purported to have been addressed also. I put a set on my new Big Bend and - so far - they are fine. They handle OK and are OK in rain. They aren't very noisy, and gas mileage went down only .8 mpg. The local tire garage here swears by them. They look great on the vehicle and, when you catch them on sale or with a rebate, they are competitively priced. I won't know for sure how they do in the nasty stuff until we get well into the winter, but judging by the history of the tire, the ratings and the design these could be a good choice over, say, the excellent-but-heavy Falkan Wildpeaks (which were not available in my size).

I had the new Duratrac RTs on my 4Runner for around a year before trading it in (probably 15K miles at least); I swapped to them from a Yokohama Geolander AT-X.

Overall I was super happy with them. They were fantastic in snow (way better than my Yokohama), held up in all the offroad/wheeling I put them through with pretty much zero chunking or damage (something I surprisingly coudln't say for my E-rated Yokohamas) and just rode and handled way better than I expected from an RT tire.

Price was definitely a factor for me also; I had thought about giving the new Mickey Thompsons a shot but the out the door price for a set of Duratracs was a good $150 to $200 cheaper from what I remember.
