I'm wondering when 22 MY ends, I'm hoping its early or fall at the worst. Dealers got an estimate of their total number of Bronco Allocations (it was clearly marked ESTIMATE as they are calculated monthly and can change based on Bronco sport sales or production totals).

Our dealership has already scheduled 3/4 of our allocation if this number is correct. Question is when the 23's start, if we switch in July isn't a big deal being about done, if it runs through September, not great, if it runs to December again, its gonna suck. I'm also hopeful that Ford understated the number to avoid upsetting people if there are cuts, but only time will tell.

I need to see this Memo

I have nothing on my feed for this, it sounds like speculation, but props to your Bronco Salesmen for at least preparing you.

I can say that there are probably over 80k orders in the Ford system, there is no way they fulfil those for 2022 MY. Please keep in mind that if you go to a MY23, it doesn't mean you're for sure waiting until 2023. It is very common for the MY to be a year ahead of our current actual year. It is some stupid mentality the Auto Industry made.
Good point on the difference between MY and actual year. We bought my wife's 2021 Wrangler in October of 2020. My question would be (and this is if supply chain issues decrease) when would MY23 start for Bronco? MY22 did start until December, safe to say the same for 23? Who knows? If so, that gives for 10-11 more months of MY22 production, right?

I'm either buying the Bronco I ordered or the redesigned 4Runner, whichever hits my driveway first is the winner. I've already been soured on Ford products and regardless of outcome I'm done with Ford after the Bronco nightmare.

It is absolute INSANITY that even some day 1 reservations won't be filled when Ford will have had 1.5 model years to build the damn things if they just went down the list in timestamp.

I want success for the Bronco but I hope some decision makers at Ford are fired over this launch.

I agree Comp. I'm sitting on Plans A&B, and just waiting for the day that my old mind tells me to "screw it, get something else". The bloom is definitely off the Bronco rose for me.

Hi guys

just got this email from my sales guy at McAlpine Ford in Ontario, Canada. I'm part of the July 2020 reservation group thats still missing a VIN.

Has anyone else heard of this 'balancing out' that he is referring too? Did Ford send a memo out to anyone else's dealer?

Full Text:

Sorry if this is a repeat but I tried sending you a reply yesterday but seems like it got stuck in my outbox.

I completely agree with you on how Ford is dealing with early reservation holders, they should have done a better job communicating what is going on. Even for us at the dealership, getting answers to questions is like pulling teeth, we constantly get the run around. My suggestion if you really want a Bronco by summer is to order something without constraints, this way you will get it serialized and built the quickest possible. Then hopefully by next year, when all of this craziness dies down you can trade it in and get what you really want. I know this isn't what you wanted to hear but it's my best suggestion to get you into a Bronco ASAP. There was a memo that just came out that the 2022 Broncos are going to balance out soon as they can't keep up with the demand. This is only one out of 9 vehicles for 2022/2023 that is already balancing out and we are just in January. I'm at a lost for words one what is going on. If you want I can refund the deposit and cancel your order. Let me know if you have any questions

Edit1:

"Balanced Out means:

scheduling will continue but retail orders are quickly approaching our
total allocation for the model year.
Customers may not be able to fill current model year orders."

Hey DieselSmack-

Might be good to completely strip out the name of the dealer that you're working with to better protect them. Unfortunately, I've heard that there could be significant repercussions from Ford corporate for dealers that "overshare" information.

Balanced out means Ford will continue to use all parts available to build the most profitable broncos on a month to month basis.
I ordered a base 4 door in late july 2020 and took delivery about a month ago.
There was some luck involved with that but
It was a well known fact that we were dealing with commodity restraints and obviously if you order a vehicle with fewer parts you will have a much better chance of your vehicle actually being built.
Keep in mind this is all about Ford making money not about what you "want" and there is an aftermarket to buy your bolt on stuff.
I am about to order a two door base for my wife.
Good luck.

Sounds like that specific dealer is balanced between orders and expected allocations for the year. That’s how I would interpret. Additionally if others ahead of you are buildable it would push you out or depending on where you are in line as far as priority on those allocations. I think he is saying it could push you to MY23.

I don't actually know, but I have a sneaking suspicion, MY22 will be done shortly for taking orders - especially with Maverick MY22 being done today for ordering either Hybrid or Gas. Nobody knows true/exact answers has Ford even keeps the dealers in the dark, and it's like pulling teeth from a lion to get a simple answer

I saw Ford put the MY22 Bronco on balance out warning status, meaning it was probably getting close since MY22 will end mid year as its not running until Dec this year which was known. Bronco is scheduled out until end of March currently so what 4 months left.

"Customers may not be able to fill current model year orders." Literally wtf does this mean? LOL!!

If I understand correctly: Now CUSTOMERS need to build the Broncos? This will never work!! :ROFLMAO:

Critical writing skills are unendingly underappreciated.
The memo is from Ford, it is to dealers, dealers are the customers to which Ford refers.

So customers = dealers.

Critical reading skills are also important.
