Had several scratches in it from factory. Color is only on thin outside layer, as if anything at all brushes against it, the white underneath is exposed and looks terrible (definitely not color throughtout as i was told). Seems like the top has a very thin, superficial outside painted coating on a white product and sadly it is all ready not wanting to stay laminated.

So No, I'm ready for the painted modular top that it was supposed to have originally, or an actually improved mic 3.0.

Mic 2.0 is not a solution nor is it acceptable on a $60k unit.
I’m actually hoping I get pushed to a ‘23 MY.

I don’t get this reference? Is that a Ford Flex?

Do you want a fixed top? If that’s it, I’m not sure that is the market Ford is going after. No fixed top Wranglers. Maybe you want a grand Cherokee?

Most of that comparison comes from the rear. The Bronco body line is not nearly as straight as the Flex.

Not me...for the money I want the truck to be right. IMO that's the problem, Ford knows folks will accept mediocrity, so we get a crap truck. Most of you are probably not old enough to remember the 70 cars and bad quality.
I remember. I’m not willing to settle for a mediocre product. Ford has to get this top issue resolved.

It is a pretty critical and reasonable request. I settled for a soft top, but I really wanted a hard top. I'm certainly not dropping money on one until the quality is better. I will probably even let the ADV Fiberglass one bake for a year before I trigger pull on that, assuming my 2.7L engine with a Julian date right in the hottest part of the failures doesn't blow up.

The aftermarket ones look like a winner.

That's probably because it doesn't have the second panel that the noise seems to come from.
NOt true at all. Give it time, it's a safe bet all two doors will develop the issue. The vast majority here have.
Mine did, it took a few weeks.
Have yet to try to fix it, but it is very annoying.
Primarily on the drivers side, but when temps drop the passenger panel pops and clicks also.

Wow that’s interesting. I’m guessing they just shipped the first editions with the problem hardtop to get them out in 21. Would look even worse if some “First Editions” were 22s.
Probably, not sure how scientific my method is lol. I do look for hard tops specifically and a real pic, not the Ford/Dealer generated pic. Like I said, on autotrader I do “distance” search “any,” select “new” and “4 door” and start looking and I’d say 98%(probably higher) are soft tops still. So that tells me the hard top issue hasn’t been solved for four doors and probably two doors as well, not many of them out there.

I honestly believe most if not all current 2022 orders with hard tops are going to get pushed to 2023.

The cut of the "sound deadening" material and the glue overspray in the video is absolutely deplorable.. That's Yugo level fit and finish.

Took delivery of my 2 door last week. No popping noises or anything even after taking the panels out for a quick beach trip. For some reason, mine did not come with the sound deadening material but it seems like that was actually a good thing.
