They will milk this money machine for 6-8 years with a mid-cycle refresh. Changing parts takes time and money. They won't change anything (except poor engineering choices) until they get a look at the next-gen wrangler and 4Runner.
I read this, and can't stop laughing. Not how it works at all.

Do you think Bronco will maintain its current design like the Wrangler to hopefully maintain value, or will they start tweaking the exterior?
I would suppose you have never heard of the full size bronco or the bronco "II". Ford drifts where the market goes, as any company that is in business to make money does.

That said the jeep has over 80 years of history and a fanatic fanbase, really a piece of 'mericana. The bronco simply does not have that and therefore, will be greater subject to the winds of change. My advice is pick up the one you want now and pass it to a grandchild; it is possible the current version of the bronco will be in high demand just like Scout II are now. Resto-mods will only gain in popularity. A 2020's body and frame on a 2100's drivetrain, running off banana peels and old beer cans will turn a lot of heads.

Well so how does it work then. I mean 90%+ of auto manufacturers follow a 7-9 year platform to next gen with a typical mid cycle refresh. The supposed Bronco competitors are running this cycle or greater. Toyota is so long in the tooth on the current 4Runner cause it just keeps printing money, why kill it. Who else in auto land has a 2009 generation still in production. The JK was 2011-18. current JL is 2018+ with the only upgrades in response to Ford Bronco launch. The retool was so minimal the JK and JL shared 2018. Please share the trade secrets

I’ve seen a 70’s Lincoln
Useless off road?! More useless than a crown Vic?

Hahaha
Off topic but I’ve seen a crown vic in Moab. He’s upgraded since the video, surprisingly capable.

My predictions:

They will kill the V6 at some point.
The 2 door may go away if sales start to lag.
They may admit defeat and make it a hard top.
They will reduce the number of models to improve production.

Electric/hybrid option. More editions like Everglades Or Heritage. I doubt the sheet metal will change much. Retooling is expensive.

I love the styling of my 2012, guess we are going to have to agree to disagree there.
Front looks fine, it's the bashed in rear end. But at least you got the sequential turn signals. I think 2011 was the first year they came stock?

How about when they turned the Explorer from a Truck into a car? The "Mustang Mach-E"? The F-150 is their halo cash cow. They won't ever mess with it. Oh, wait the Lightning.
They still make the traditional mustang. By even bringing that as an example shows you're reaching. That's like saying they killed the Bronco because of the Bronco Sport.

I don't see them ever getting rid of the soft top. Why would they? People who have it love its functionality.

Only because of the issues with the hard (mod)top mainly. I should have said no mod top.
None of the items I listed is something I want BTW.

Does not surprise me. Had Crown Vics take home patrol cars. A beast in the snow for a 2wd. Locking rear was standard in a police interceptor. Given the spotlight on the one in the video, this one is probably a retired police car...

I like the functionality against the current MIC top. I’d prefer a fully modular Hard top. I dream for a sky active one touch like the Jeep. That’s fire right there. Slamming it out of the park would be to add the gunner hatch to the four door mod top. Then it’s take all my money and send me one.

The F150, Mustang and Explorer would all like to have a word with you. What great selling Ford product were you referring to that got redesigned into something useless??
The Mustang almost became what was later known as the Ford Probe, so... They're not always on point.

Also the Fairmont wants its Fox Body back
