Bronco Build Week 4/08/2024

Buckey came in yesterday and I finally got to meet and greet today. Still needs to be detailed and cleaned up from the factory. Plus I opted for ceramic. Monday is probably the day cause of my work schedule and waiting for the bank to sign off on their end. Hang in there for those who are still waiting.

Congrats! Been out and about in ours since noon. Going to post more pics up soon!!!! Had deleted my sappy post because I had that shred of a second doubt about trading in the TJ. Actually shed a tear today cleaning it out to trade it in and since noon it’s been nothing but

Love the steps, I’m going to be reaping what I sowed. My wife said we need steps which we do but going think with the solid stock running boards instead of what I’ve found aftermarket so far. Reason for solid, she can’t get heels stuck if she wears them. When discussing accessories and mods if I’ve given any objection she’s used my track car mods in my face. Oh the rabbit hole has begun…

These are the OEM hoop steps. They’re removable. Have them on oops, had them on my previous Badlands. The included rock rail is listed by Ford as not capable of supporting total vehicle weight. But they have worked great for our off roading around these parts. None of my previous vehicles had nerf bars or sliders that could support the whole weight of the truck so I’m not really concerned. Rock rails or nerf bars or sliders are sacrificial in my experience.

The wife and I are “grown up” enough that the steps make a difference and easy access to the truck and the roof.

My wife has more than enough “credits” to wave in my face for trading chits so I understand your bargaining position.

Ok campers, I know I’m an extra lucky one of our happy little band since I went through this last year and have been fortunate to have one since last July. And, I now have a new one!

Trust me when I tell you it’s worth the wait. My first order was 5 mos from order to delivery plus 2 months waiting for the order banks to reopen just to put in the order.

I’ve now gone through this twice and loved both results and I can tell you it’s worth the wait.

Those of us still in a holding pattern, I’m sorry. But, the good news is you’re still in progress and you’re further than you were 2 weeks ago. It’ll happen. Hang in there.

As I said, it’s worth it.

For me the part that irritates me is that it's built but hasn't left the factory and been sitting for 2 weeks. Very disappointed in Ford's logistics and shipping.

No movement for me yet. I did a chat yesterday and he said it was to be delivered between the 20th and 25th . I reminded him it was the 26th. That said, the dealer told me between the 25th and 30th so I am hoping he is right but if it didn't leave the plant yesterday, I doubt anything will happen until Monday unless they load and ship over the weekends. Does anyone know if they do any shipping on weekends?

Heard from my dealer yesterday that they have no update. Expressed my frustration, not that he can do anything about it, but that if it didn't ship next week I will start looking at other options.

I know it’s frustrating but maybe give it another week. It’ll be worth it. Took my first one a few weeks after build to ship so it’s not that unusual. I know it seems ridiculous with those of us getting ours sooner.

Yeah I know, sometimes too much information is a bad thing. Being able to read the blend dates and understanding all that has led me to looking at all the dealers in Wash/Ore/ID and figured out the rail shipments for the northwest go through the northern part of the country and everything going to a dealer here hasn't shipped yet.

It also led me to look at Nev/Ut/CA and found one in a CA dealer just a couple hours south of me that has the same blend date that is already on their lot. That didn't help my mood. However they also have one exactly as I ordered with one or two cosmetic adds that I didn't order but had a blend of 4/4 so I will most likely start a conversation and see how that goes.

Meanwhile, back in PA, I am still sitting on my hands...........................................Drove to the dealership last night thinking maybe it came in since I heard of situations like that happening. Nothing.

I’m assuming for my case it skipped the shipped with the week gap in notice from built to final prep because I’m less than an hour from Dearborn. Shipping time was nonexistent. It’s tough to tell from individual basis but there’s so many quality checks with everything from within and without any variables in options could cause a pause in release for shipping so hang in there. From the machining/assembly side I’ve seen first hand individual departments to full areas of anyone involved brought to standstills. First couple of months working in the factory I’m at I saw teams of teams going through approval of incorrect bolts shipped from the supplier deciding if they could or could not be used altering the process for emergency action to be put in place. One of many reasons for inline changes in the whole auto industry. Everyone is at a stand still for engineers to do their thing if it’s a green light or no go. It sucks but hang in there it’s better safe than sorry and well worth the wait.
