Now, this only takes a couple of seconds, so no big deal in the grand scheme of things, right? Of course not. But it's just annoying and 100% unnecessary, like so many other little quirks on the Bronco. And I'm sure it's all because of the damn lawyers...
So turn off the stupid auto-locks.

Mine will lock the drivers side door if the key is in the truck, and I get out. From what I can tell the passenger and rear doors don't lock. I've seen this happen on mine AND the Off Roadeo Bronco.
So it lets you lock your key in the car ? I thought it was the opposite?

Yikes, I am glad that is not a setting. Doesn't sound very safe to me.
Probably just my paranoia, I feel like anyone could just come up to my vehicle when I pull over and park and whip the door open and rob me.
That's why the feature should be optional through the settings menu.

That does do the trick. Unfortunately, my wife (like Jawaburger above) likes having the doors lock themselves while she's driving. She does agree, however, that you should be able to tell the truck to unlock the doors when you put it in park. If you want to.

Yes and no. This just happened again today. I pull into the garage with my family. Most of the time i take the key out of my pocket and put it in the center in front of the shifter (7MT). I frequently forget to get it when I get out. I left it in the Bronco this time as well. 10 minutes later i realize i left it in there, go back out to get it and the drivers door is locked. The passenger door is not. So, not really locked out. But annoying and I don't trust it to not lock all the doors.

That’s so weird. What’s point if locking just driver door?

No idea. The Bronco I used at the off roadeo did the same thing (I didn't test the other doors though) I had the window open enough that I could fit my arm through to unlock manually.

Happened to me over the weekend. Went for a hike with my lady, got out to help her with something but left the fob on the dash. Went back to retrieve the fob but my driver's door was locks....talk about scared shitless, I immediately thought I'd have to catch an Uber to get the spare key. I played it cool though and went over to the passenger door and thankfully it was unlocked.

Is there a setting for this??? To keep driver's door unlocked after exiting with the key left inside of truck?

I've never had this happen. But I could almost see it makes sense. If you leave your key in your car to get gas or something someone can't just jump in the driver seat and take off. But you're not really locked out and would at least take them extra steps. I don't know it's weird.

I mean yeah, I see your point but there should be a way to disable it.

My 2023 and my wife's 2024 both do the same thing.

The whole point of the auto lock is to prevent car jacking. If you come to a stop, whether in park or drive, stop light or parking lot, your doors are locked without having to think about it. It would be stupid to unlock in a park situation. It takes away the whole point of locking your car automatically. For example, you arive early for something, find a parking spot and it's snowing outside or hotter than hell. You park, doors unlock, and you are sitting there with the car running with the heat/ac running. You got 10 minutes so you start reading your favorite forum, start looking at IG or just sit back and enjoy your music. All of a sudden your door opens and some crackhead with a knife is telling you to get out of the car. What do you do??? The auto lock is there to keep your doors locked until YOU unlock them. Keeping you somewhat safe, keeping that barrier between you and that crackhead with the knife. I'd rather go through the hassle of unlocking the door in all the inconvenient situations than having someone just come up to my parked car with me or anyone inside and opening a door and doing whatever to me or my occupants.

Either turn off the auto lock feature or deal with the inconveniences of unlocking when someone needs in. It makes no sense to unlock in park. It defeats the whole purpose of it...
