But what I can’t understand is how a Subaru aftermarket exhaust can sound beefy like a v8 and the aftermarket bronco exhausts sounds like nails on a chalkboard board?

It's a combination of a flat engine, 180 degree firing order and unequal length headers. Put equal length headers on a Subaru and it will sound like a Honda.
