Best Rear Cargo Area Storage Solutions?

They aren't cheap... But they're tough and weather resistant and I trust them ... I have a lot of that size case in different colors for either luggage use, camera gear use, or (like those two) tool and recovery gear use. .. acquired over multiple years.

A case that size works really well in the back of the bronco (and they're really manageable in general).. and having them be weather resistant means I can strap them to the roof rack with confidence if I need more room in the back (have done that for some longer trips). They work well at camp too.

For me the cases work a lot better than building out the back of the bronco. Let's me switch out what I need on demand, and then that ability to strap to the top is a bonus.

Thanks for the info - I'll def keep that on my short list. I hear great things about the Pelican cases. For now, I'm considering a couple of items from the ToughBuilt StackTech, since I can fit them side by side in the back and I can separate them with front access only when I need to take one out.

Seems like a good option. Option for drawers would be nice. Hopefully this year I'll start building out my trailer (m1101). I have a roof top tent on it now, something like those drawers underneath might work well. More to consider

For me I didn't want to have to dig to far into the back for some things, so didn't try and put anything on the back of the seats (yet)

Used molle in the windows and on the back door.

With a good rubberized twist tie, it should hold 90% of your stuff without a bag... But if course there are tons of bags you could use to.

If you do try and add something like that panel I have the fire extinguisher mounted to, do know that you'll have to modify the mounting hardware.. otherwise it'll just keep popping out on the trail. I modified some cage nuts (trimmed the flange down quite a bit on one side) and used those instead of the provided hardware

I often end up with 4 of those in the back ...two with recovery gear and other handy tools and such, and two with camera gear.. another expensive hobby So having them on their side make it easier for me to grab them. Stacking more flat on top of them while they're on their sides works well too.

Oh and another reason.. when I've got the chainsaw in that case back there.. having them on their sides lets them slide all the way back against the bar of the saw... sorta tetrising things into place.

While not a solution that mounts to the back of the seats, I use the Plano crates for all my recovery gear/ misc tools. On long road trips we will use a second one as a "pantry" for non refrigerated foods as well. They can stack or fit 2 rows worth as well (like in picture).
