I do have kids (18 and 21), and no they weren't in the garage that night or even home haha. And I've never turned on the rear defroster.

Searching and found this thread. Yesterday, my rear window just blew out sitting in a parking lot. Had the owner of the place come ask if it was my bronco. About 6 people on the patio said they heard a loud pop and saw glass everywhere. No one near the car. Afterwards, looking at the mess, looks like one of the struts broke ar the rod and punched thru the glass.
Looks like through searches in here, no one was successful on a warranty claim. Ugh.
