I have heard that the rear speakers don't have a full range signal. Is that true and is a there a workaround for that for the B&O setup?
@Hossfire - This is a great question and would still love this question to be answered. If the B&O system doesnt provide a full signal to the rear pods, then I am having a hard time feeling that upgrading to 6.5 pods with a quality and high sensitivity coax speaker will be a significant difference between keeping the factory pods and just upgrading those with a high quality 4 inch like the Hertx DCX 100.3. Any replacement of the B&O speakers really needs to have speakers with sensitivity of at or above 90db - 92 with the Hertz is even better. This is also all on the assumption you plan to keep the factory AMP (which I plan to keep)

I ended up adding an amp to power upgraded 6.5” pods and a sub. I just fed the factory signal into the amp for the rear pods. I used a kicker Keyloc for the sub by tapping to the kick panel speakers. I can confirm that the kicks have a full range signal. At some point I may just switch the pods to the Keyloc output as I rarely touch the fader control.

If you like to listen to music with the windows down (particularly with roof panels off) the B&O amp will not satisfy. What I did isn’t as nice as the replacing the B&O amp with an A2B setup, but was a lot cheaper.

My understanding of the B&O pods vs the non-B&O was that they already were full range, as there is no need for any forscan updates when switching for B&O like there is for non B&O. However that may not necessarily be 100% accurate as the B&O DSP may be setting the crossover point for low frequency anyway - which I suspect is more likely the case - so fuller range than normal, but not necessarily true full range. In either case, making the move to more efficient, better quality speakers has made a dramatic improvement in the sound quality without a significant budget hit.

@Johnny Mo - you may have mentioned this in another thread, but did you stay with the factory pods or did you upgrade to one of the 6.5 versions ? I agree putting a solid high quality speaker with focus on high sensitivity will be much better than the stock B&O pod speakers, as these are the weakest link in the B&O system from the factory.

I wanted to upgrade the pods but just did not like the idea of spending 300 Plus on new pods to fit the Raptor and ultimately not be happy with how they looked.

As far as I know, I think there was only one brand that makes a set of pods that fit the Raptor.

My approach was to originally leave the kick panels, but then I figured I'd rather spend the money on speakers for the kick panels The Memphis mjp6s before I upgrade pods to see if that would be sufficient and it was more beneficial than whan I was expecting so I left the pods as is.

I just added the SSV WORKS REAR PODS with Kicker Speakers and WOW, These Speakers Sound Great! I have a Wildtrak with the B&O system and basically the rear speakers that came with the system are worthless. Adding the Kicker speakers is a huge upgrade. Easy to install plug and play, look great, sound awesome. I believe this is a MUST DO UPGRADE.
Which Kickers did you use? the CS series?

Would you mind posting links to the components you used? Straight plug and play, no extra amp?
