Headed to Moab next week and thought I’d refresh the fluids in my diffs (@10K) before I make the trip. I noticed that the manual calls for Ford ATF in the center diff. I’ve also determined that I’d need 3 different fluids for this refresh.
Any tips on replacing the original fluids?
TIA!

Yes, the transfer case takes Mercon LV, not differential fluid.
Both the front and rear differential take 75W-85.
There are plenty of threads that discuss using other types of oil, that's completely up to you.

See this thread by @CarbonSteel and everybody. If you start reading now, you should have time to get through it, and do the fluid swap just in time for Moab!
It's a great place to start digging into the world of fluid changes though!

(y) Thanks! I did find that thread and theres a LOT of info. I'm now leaving earlier than I thought so the fluid swap will likely happen after I get back (12K). I've ordered the Ford Performance diff cover so now I'll have more birds to kill.

If you struggle with finding the correct fluids for the differentials, transfer case, transmission, etc. like I have. Here is a source that I found, www.blauparts.com that may help. You can search on the actual Ford/Motorcraft specification to find lubricants that apply.

Just did what your'e planning to do, FP diff cover and all. I stuck with the Motorcraft stuff after looking up the specs and comparing them to most of the other readily available products. Yes, the Ford stuff is a bit more expensive via the local dealer but I do want to support the locals. I may switch out the diff fluids in the future but they'll be the OEM-specified weight and meet Ford's specifications. It's easy enough to change that I don't mind doing it every 40K or so.

I did it on a Braptor but it's very similar to what you'll do. Plan on about two hours if you don't sit there and gawk at all the undercarriage components and just get right down to business. https://www.broncoraptor.com/thread...iff-and-transfer-case-fluid-swap-how-to.2312/

Thanks @Ape Factory
Your write-up on the Raptor site was fantastic. I also plan to use the Motorcraft fluids solely to insure that FoMOCo can never shut down a possible future warranty claim.
I'm glad I decided to wait until I get back from Moab so I'll have all the time I want to gawk!
