Guys,

I'm looking into buying a new Bronco, but I have concerns about the AC. I currently have a Tacoma, which have notoriously bad AC for desert use and I don't ever want to end up in a similar situation again.

So my question is this: For anyone running a hard top Bronco here in the valley, how is the AC when it hits 110? Does it take half an hour to get down into the 70's? Or is it good to go after a few minutes?

Air gets cold fast (and conversely, heats up quickly in the winter). Does a decent job even in 110°+ of cooling down the vehicle fairly quickly, and my 4-door cools off quickly, hard top or soft top (I have both). It will often want to shift itself in and out of recirc though, so just be prepared for some weirdness there.

When you first start out, windows down to get that initial load of trapped superheated air out does help a lot.

Oddly enough, the Bronco seems to cool down faster at 1/2 or 3/4 fan speed than full fan. Full fan the air won't feel nearly as cold, but it's moving air.

(I'm not AZ, but central valley CA - not too far off, and no stranger to 110°+. I have Carbonized Grey, with black Rally Top - so it's not an entirely black vehicle, but close, and that does make a big big different too)

Wait, these come with AC? I thought that was what the removable doors and roof was all about. When it's 30 degrees and you have all that off, you really are not hunting for the AC switch.

I live in Central Phoenix. I took delivery of my Badlands with hard top in April 2023. I leave it parked outside. I'm happy with how quickly it cools down. I have the high package which seems to have automatic climate control. I set the temperature at 73 degrees and haven't touched it. I've notice that auto start/stop turns off in the summer so the A/C will keep running.

Bought my Bronco while I lived in Chicago and have been in Phoenix over a year now. Can’t tell a difference as far as the AC goes. Now after getting out of the Bronco is a different story, lol
