I was removing my Midlands radio wire and this fell out of the glovebox area. Anyone know what this is and where it goes?

There's a little plastic bar on the side of the glove compartment that goes through that and catches on it at 'full open'

Be careful putting the rod back in I broke a tab off of the damper on mine.
