I have a 2.7 and have been getting better than expected mileage.
21 Hwy
17 in town
18-19 Combined

I realize things like terrain, speed and towing greatly affect mileage. I also understand that the Bronco is one of the most un-aerodynamic vehicles on the road. What I didn’t know was how much the “brick “ shape would affect mileage in certain circumstances.

Specifically, I was driving on the Interstate, averaging about 21 mpg, when suddenly, the wind started whipping up. I could feel it pushing my Bronco around. Within a few miles, my my mpg had dropped to 18.4. The terrain was flat and the cruise control was on. The Bronco is what it is, which is a rolling brick , but I love it anyway!

Yep you really can’t expect much with the Bronco when it comes to mileage. Especially when it comes to Sasquatch. Shaped like a brick, big heavy wide tires provided extra rolling resistance. Plus it’s just a heavy vehicle in general. It doesn’t even have one of those air dam thingy that you see on a lot of pickups and SUV’s. So more air gets underneath hitting every under there creating more resistance. Oh well I don’t really care about mileage anyway.

I once asked a friend what mileage his truck got.

His answer, “No idea, there’s not much I can do about it and I’m not going to sell it”

That was 25 or 30 years ago and before the days of instant computer generated mileage but it’s always stuck with me.

best I've ever seen was 17.3, but I was also going 80 on I5. Day to day driving around town gets me 15.2 or so. Badsquatch here. Recent 1776 mile trip to SoCal and back got me 16.9, most miles on I5 at high speed, rest around Palm Springs, residential and freeways and fast roads, good mix. Was hoping for a bit more, but don't really care, don't have a commute, long distance driving is for fun only, and fun always costs money ;-)
