Android auto device to play media in bronco

I wanted to get thoughts on what is the best android auto media device to hook up in the bronco to stream media. My girl would like to stream YouTube or Hulu on the long trips. We had a tablet hooked up but the bronco screen would be better.

Any suggestions on brands/models

I have a magic box - has been pretty good. Not completely flawless but works well and supports pretty much any app (Netflix, YouTube, Disney, Hulu, etc.).

It looks like they have a new version now (I have 2.0, now there is a 3.0). Might be better:

If you're looking for a free option. I use the Fermata Auto app.

Streaming apps like YouTube and Hulu do not appear you in your Android Auto environment for a common-sense reason: they can (and likely will) distract the driver.

Do we not have enough tech distractions? Isn't it bad enough that we are bombarded with texts or selecting audio streaming sources interactively when changing lanes at 70MPH?

Another thing: "free" apps like Fermanta often contain malware.

There are reasons why we have restrictions in place.

Your Bronco likely has a hotspot. If not, you can get LTE hotspots at WalMart, and cheap Android tablets off Amazon. It's better than a head-on collision with your family on-board!

I just got the UHD version and it would not cooperate with my Bronco. Idk if the box was bad or my Bronco didn't like it. Got it to show it's home screen twice out of 20+ attempts. Ended up going through a bunch of problem solving steps with carlinkit but ultimately had to return it. Was pretty bummed. Just make sure you have a return option wherever you buy one, just in case.

I mostly just want OnX to run on the Bronco screen. Android Auto sucks for reliable connectivity. Wireless or wired does not matter. I am tired of losing the connection when using google maps or whatever. Streaming is fine with the factory Sync system. Does anyone have or know of a good working solution?

have you taken the truck into the dealer to ask about your connectivity issues? My Bronco is not perfect by any stretch, but one bright spot has been my android auto / ford sync connection stability

Not yet. I have that and my proximity sensors are also acting up as well. So it will be happening.
