Has anyone installed the smart series amp steps? I’m trying to install mine but the directions say to hook wires up from the harness that aren’t there. The only extra wires I have are a long yellow one and a very short red one thats capped off with shrink tube. I don’t have the 2 purple wires that the instructions say I should have to run into the cabin.

I did. The customer service guy was pretty rude. I ended up figuring it out on my own before I called but figured they should still know their directions are wrong.

I was trying to look at the instructions to see if I could find the location on mine in the garage, but the images are breaking my mother lovin' brain. It's like they drew one image by standing in one place and moving their head for a new perspective on each item in the engine bay.

Sorry to hear it didn't go well...

I have mine still sitting in the box and probably won't get to it for a few weeks. Can you share any secrets you learned about how what should the instructions say?

I would greatly appreciate it!!

By the way - how do you like the steps now?

Make sure you do the torquing of the bolts in the proper sequence on pg 7 of the instructions. The yellow wire in the harness goes to the yellow wire on the obd plug. This part isn’t mentioned in the instructions at all.
So far I’m liking them. Wish I had bought them in the first place.

Their instructions leave a little to be desired.

I bought mine from 4x4truckleds.com. They have a discount for us members and you can also ask for a quote on their website.

Slightly off specific topic, so apologize but am curious on your thoughts of the smart series and app usage? I'm leaning towards these steps specifically and appreciative of any feedback you might have after running them for a bit now.

In my opinion it’s just ok. I was hoping I could disable them for longer than 30 min with the ap if I was out off-roading. That way I didn’t have to worry about them deploying into something. So I still either have to unplug the connector from the obd2 port or pull the fuses to keep them lock up in place.

Thank you. Appreciate the feedback. Seems that could be a software update? To either extend the time or make it permanent… don’t know how all these apps work, but I would guess that should be something AMP could improve.

maybe I’m not fully understanding, but

Just fished installing a set of these on my 24 Wildtrac. What a pain in the a#%. The instructions are worthless. Watch a few YouTube videos you’ll be better off. Haven’t been able to get the app to work. Says I need a password (controller id). I’ve tried almost every combination of numbers and letters on the controller but nothing works. Guess I’ll be calling tech support on Tuesday.
