Alpharex Nova headlight installed

Finally got time to install the Alpharex Nova headlight. Dissembling parts was pretty straightforward until the two plastic plugs on the headlight show up, who in the world designed these junk? It took me an hour trying to unplug them using trim tool with no luck, I ended up have to cut the top part and push them out from the top. Those are the same type of plug that are used to hold fog light cables in the steel bump, they were PITA to unplug as well. What’s the point of having those plugs when the headlight is already secured by three bolts and a clip? I can order new plugs but I decide to leave them out.

I also made a stupid mistake thinking I can used the OEM headlight to adjust the height of the new headlight in my garage. For some reason the cutoff line of the factory headlight is very high when it’s ~2 feet from a wall, I had to adjust the Alpharex a lot to meet the factory height. However, I immediately realized the new headlights’ beams are too high when I road tested the installation, almost embarrassing. I ended up do the 25 ft thing and it’s all good. The height adjustment gear was very hard to turn, I had to use a quite large size bit and slightly damaged the plastic opening on top of the gear, but that had nothing to do with the function.
The Alpharex Nova headlights are significantly brighter than the factory signature headlights, and the combination of four projectors and the amber halo ring makes them stunning. This upgrade is worth every penny and I’ very happy about the result.

??? I've been working on Fords for YEARS and i've never had an issue removing those. You just need a metal removal tool. They pop right out.

Yeah, that might be the reason, my tool is plastic.

The tool was actually ok, but the plug head was deformed. Good to learn.

From removing my lights multiple times, I think they use those Christmas tree rivets as a last resort so the expensive headlight doesn't fall to the ground. Would be easy to pull all the bolts, turn around to put tools down and have the light fall out and smash. Either that or they just enjoy having us struggle like the Philips head rivets that never screw out in the wheel wells!

Related to the Alpha Rex performance, can you confirm that the auto bright feature works as factory? Pretty sure the tech needed to activate that is not in the headlight itself but just want to be sure there's no incompatibility.

If you mean the auto high beam, yes, that works.
