Air Conditioner question

My 2024 (one month old new purchase) Bronco seems to blow really cold air whether the a/c is on or not and there doesn't seem to be a difference in the cold air it is dishing out when the a/c button is actually "on" on the vehicle. Is this a thing or do I get it checked? I kind of assumed it would start throwing snowballs at me but when it didn't I started thinking the jig was up and shit was off kilter. Anyone else got an idea or an answer (one that might help prior to the one that will make us all laugh out loud)?

And, in case anyone needs to know, yes I had the flux capacitor full of appropriate material, the left doors were installed on the passenger side and the right doors were on the roof. The 1.2L quad high-decibel, low frequency supercharged engine had been plugged in all night and had a full gallon of paint in the fuel container. I used to be the renegade but now I'm the bucker.

Is the “auto” button depressed? If so, AND if the outside temp is warmer than the set temp, cold air will be output by the HVAC. I hope that helps. BUT, if the auto button is not depressed, please ignore my reply and seek assistance from others.

First question - do you live in either of the Arctic circles?

Second - does it get warm if you turn the temp up?

Third - the compressor is belt driven and has an electric clutch, and the radiator fan is electric driven - not on a belt. With the AC off sitting at idle, the clutch is off and the radiator fan is off more often than not. With the AC on, the clutch will engage intermittently and the radiator fan is on full time

Auto button not depressed... I finally just turned the system off all together.

I'll turn the system back on (without the a/c on) and turn up the temp and see what it does - but what surprises me is that the air coming through the vents (without the a/c on) is colder than the outside air temp (of course I forgot to mention that in my original post) and that is why I'm asking this in the first place.

If the compressor is off when the AC is off - nothing to worry about, your Bronco just has its own laws of physics and you should count yourself lucky
If the compressor continues to run with the AC off - you should take it in

Compressor constantly on is much better than a failing gas pump or jacked up cam phasers. I’m a firm believer that no Bronco out there is 100% perfect. Every Bronco has to have something that’s wrong with it and that’s considered normal

If you have the defrost on with the vent it uses the ac compressor without the ac button being on to help clear the windshield better.

Mix up a pitcher of martinis - I've heard they are attracted to the sound of the stirrer clinking against the glass.

If you have the defrost on with the vent it uses the ac compressor without the ac button being on to help clear the windshield better.

This is actually also the case if you choose to have your fan blow out air onto the windshield (in fan settings when you increase fan speed)...it will blow cold air out even without the AC button on or the front defrost button pushed. It will also prevent the Auto Start Stop from engaging.

Purchased '24 OBX in April and we noticed the same thing. Air was cool even with a/c off. Bronco is garage parked, so it's never hot a startup, so maybe that was part of it. Now that it's 112 during the day, the a/c is on.

Check to see if you have your defroster vent selected. I have found this will constantly run the a/c.
