Hi all, I've had the CBI sliders for about a year now, and somewhere along the way developed some defect/penetration right at one of the weld seams on the driver side. It's not very deep, about the size of a q-tip. I was planning on cleaning it out with some rust dissolver, painting it and then sealing the defect with some JB Weld or something similar, if you all think that's appropriate. Any concerns about it being at the weld seam and/or it has spread deeper than I realize? Open to any other thoughts/suggestions.

Yeah... grind with some sand paper or a wire wheel, clean it up, and hit it with some paint.

Rock rails/sliders are designed to basically sacrificial pieces of metal that protect the rest of the vehicle, so I wouldn't put too much thought into it.

Or just avoid crawling under the Bronco and you'll never be bothered about this again. You're really just meant to sit on the cushy parts inside, not laying on your back under it.

as said... they are sacrificial and replaceable. grind, paint and replace when necessary. enjoy using your bronco!
