Update:

I bought from them in Nov of 23, paid in full (I don’t own credit cards and pay for everything this way).

I immediately filed a dispute when the “we’re family, also no refunds” video and email went out.

I provided my bank (Navy Fed) with all pertinent information, throughly organized and even summarized it for them as I have experience conducting investigations at my job.

Today my dispute resulted in a refund of my money. I recently joined this forum and will check it before making any future purchases for my Bronco. Good luck to everyone who engaged in a transaction with this company.

Was it Navy Fed that refunded you or ADV? If the former, that's interesting a bank would refund a purchase made nearly a year ago. In that case the bank eats the cost?

Approximately 45 days after I made the claim I walked into a Navy Fed and asked for any kind of update. The clerk informed me that the day before Navy Fed was trying to get a refund from ADV’s bank and it was declined. No idea what the final disposition and where the money came from just happy to see that 6k is back in my account.

There was a fair amount of speculation that ADV would declare bankruptcy but I still see their ad’s on social media and they even had a sale between now and their infamous email so they seem to be in business.

Navy Fed is a very large Credit Union. CU's will back their members, because well you are a member. CU is NOT a bank. Different rules and regulations apply.

Good to know there are other routes to try. Maybe if ADV had not formally declared bankruptcy, Navy Fed was able to lean on them for some cash, with more clout than an individual customer. Or Navy Fed ate the cost. Either way glad to hear you got the money back.

My guess is they are trying to "weather the storm" of bad publicity they got from the top fiasco so that they can return to business as usual.

Ironically enough if they were going to take legal action against APG, I would of thought the court documents would of showed up on Trellis by now.

What about the scuttlebutt from APG/LiteBrite, around time of implosion, about a supposed future top related announcement? The indication was APG might at some point release the top. Maybe that's not going to happen after all the fallout?
